Regrettably I didn't bring my camera to the park today because I went with my friend and I didn't want to make them have to stop every five seconds for a picture. So there are no photos :/ I know I know, that's not expected from me but don't worry next time I'll for sure bring my camera to document Fright Fest.
Anyway, I just got back from a day at Fright Fest at SFGAm, IT WAS INSANELY BUSY! Seriously they MUST have been nearing park capacity, you could barely walk down the midway, EVERY SINGLE roller coaster/flat ride had a FULL QUEUE and was spilling into the Midway, EVERY SINGLE ONE!!! Never in the 3 years I've been going to SFGAm have I seen a day so crowded. my goodness. 2 and a half hours for Superman Ultimate Flight (A ride I've had a Zen ride on) and 2 hours for Raging Bull? Ridiculous. Do you know how well Raging Bull's Capacity is? It's good.
I never thought I'd see the day that Iron Wolf's queue was spilling into the Midway. On top of this, Six Flags was highly unprepared as most flats that could definetly use two op's were staffed with one making things take even longer.
Also V2 was closed the entire day, most likely because of staffing, As there was no one near it all day. On the Bright side there was a ton of Actors roaming the park, more then I've ever seen before, so that was pretty awesome. I feel like this year Fright Fest has taken a step down though as far as decorations and things, Mausoleum of Terror (Haunted House) was really good this year, but aside from that there was just something missing.
The all new "Saw Live Maze" was incredibly boring and it looked like it took them an hour to build, there hyping this thing up on Facebook but really I was falling asleep walking through there, plus you have to pay for it which is ridiculous, I'm a die hard Six Flags over Cedar Fair fan, but just this once I wish they would be like Cedar Fair and offer the haunts for free, serious if there gonna suck like they for the most part do then they shouldn't charge you, I can see being charged a little for the houses, but the outdoor walk throughs? Really? Those are just pathetic scare wise.
All we rode coaster wise was Batman and Little Dipper, the lines were just way to long, a good chunk out of my dad was spent singing "scar-oke" haha creative. We must have spent an hour singing different songs because there was nothing better to do.
Since my first ride on Raging Bull in June of 2008 I've been to the park 18 times, and never have I left with out at least ONE single ride on Bull no matter how long the wait, however today the line was just too damn long and I wanted to do things Fright Fest related because it only comes once a year, so I didn't get to ride Raging Bull today which was kinda sad I guess. I mean even though it's a pretty crappy ride it's the best Great America can do and It will always hold a place in my mind because It's the first ride that scared the crap out of me just looking at it, and It's a VERY photogenic ride.
Now It might seem a little wimpy to me but 2 years ago that thing was THE s***. Of course I've moved on to bigger and better things.
Great America is my homepark, so im obligated to not really LOVE it and just more of make it the most fun it can be, the thrills defiantly lack but it's a special place beyond the thrills.
I hope this wasn't to boring
