This is still just a wild rumor, so it's in the rumors section for now. It was rumored not too long ago that B&M would come out with a new design.

What could it be?!?

Sfguy

Either their take on a 4-D or something entirely new.

Either their take on a 4-D or something entirely new.

I think it will be entirely new. B&M wouldn't try to make a take off of a failed design.

I think it will be something entirely new, and I'm excited to hear more on this!

^ Intamin's 4-D's seem to be doing well, and they're pretty different from the Arrow 4-D's.

B&M worked on a wooden coaster once, and this was the result:

B&M built trains and did all of the track work, so I give them credit for it.

I think i know who this new design is for.

Alton Towers is planning a new coaster that they billed as "first of its kind int he world" and the code name for the ride is superweapon 6.

Superweapon 1 and 2 was for 2 different pipeline coasters but they scrapped the idea of them

Super weapon 3: Nemesis (1994) (B&M Invert) - while it wasnt a prototype it was a first of its kind in Europe.

Super Weapon 4: Oblivion (1998) (B&M Dive Machine) - A Prototype

Super Weapon 5: Air (2002) (B&M Flyer) - A Prototype

Super Weapon 6: unknown

So judging by their good history together and the prototypes i;m almost ready to say its B&M.

B&M are also already producing Coaster track that are blue and red but these may be for carowinds or kings dominion.

King's Dominion is getting an Intamin. I don't think they can make it any more obvious.

Still Alton towers to me is a major contendor

palmer
07-30-2009, 10:56 PM
Well, can't quite be Carowinds cause they have rumors flyin around about a remake of white Lightning. Alton is probable, but yet SFMM is also probable. Sharpio said he would add another to MM (even though he said wooden).

Austin
07-30-2009, 10:58 PM
SFMM is on track to get a steel so its either B&M or Alton to me.

nitrofan
07-30-2009, 11:00 PM
I just don't see Carowinds getting a B&M Prototype. I bet it is going to Alton Towers.

I just took out all the Universal stuff and made a Universal topic since it was good discussion, so that's why there are posts missing all of the sudden.

There is no story, it was just a rumor with no evidence from a long time ago. Hence, rumor section.

I'm still curios what kind of design alton towers will have though as the height restriction there is tree level.

Well since they managed to get a Dive Machine, I think they could work something out to get anything they want.

Well, it seems that Carowinds just had B&M tracks arrive at the site. Maybe this is what we been awaiting. Carowinds might get this "New Design"

Austin

I wonder when their new design will actually come out. I have heard more chatter about this recently, but no viable rumors.

Maybe the new design will be used in BGT in 2011!

palmer
03-16-2010, 05:12 PM
No.

Rumor for the possible 2011 coaster: could very well have a Cheetah theme too, which was thought to go along with the coaster’s multiple launch zones and overall theme. The popular rumor is that this new coaster was inspired by Maverick at Cedar Point, and will be low to the ground and very fast

There is a little chance B&M will be this coaster. If it is, we'll be seeing most likely a hyper, to equal out both Busch parks, which will make both parks consist three similar B&M designs (Inverted, Hyper, Dive Machine). Also, out of all the coasters in both parks, not one is Intamin (from the top of my head. Unless a kiddie coaster is an Intamin)

This was listed as a rumor on Screamscape:

B&M sure are going to be busy in Europe for the 2011 season, as they are also rumored to be installing their new top secret coaster project into Gardaland next year. While we don’t have a name for the design yet, it was described as being a B&M version of S&S’s 4th Dimension coaster concept… however the seats will not spin. Without the spinning seats however, I’m more inclined to say that the experience may be more like Intamin’s Wing Rider design used so far only once as Furius Baco at PortAventura. I’m told that Gardaland may place this new coaster where the former “jungle” themed ride used to be.

http://screamscape.com/html/gardaland.htm

I can't wait to see this project evolve if the rumor is true!

So what are everyone's thoughts on the rumored B&M 4D coaster? I think it would be really cool if B&M actually did it because I know the would do a great job, but to me, a ride like Wing Rider isn't a true 4D.

I'd personally rather see them working on a launch coaster.

Honestly, I don't even care about B&M coming out with a new design. If it's anything like they've made in the past several years, it'll just be boring. I want them to do what they did in the early 90's, but also with some of their more modern designs like Dive Machines, Hyper Coasters, Floorless Coasters, etc.

As much as I love B&M, I've kind of been losing my taste for them recently soon. I've never been on a bad or boring Invert or Floorless by them, but their stand-ups are uncomfortorable, and the sit-downs and Hypers are hit or miss.

I know alot of people seem to "hate" or "not care" about B&M's because there "all the same" but I just can't get enough! Everything they do, they do with greatness even if its not pushing the limits and killing people (cough) INTAMIN (cough) not to say that Intamin's aren't awesome because most of them are, but I'd take a B&M hypercoaster over an Intamin one anyday.

Millennium Force and Bizarro just aren't as good as Diamondback and Nitro.

Plus, when your at a park and most of the other rides suck, whose there to save the day? B and fricken M baby!

There's only certain cases where B&M's suck, like Cedar Point, what in the world is wrong with Mantis and Raptor, there both so horrible and down right suck compared to other B&M's

Anyway back to the topic, I'm possibly the person whose most excited for all this "B&M 4D" business, I know I can trust that those two Swiss geniuses will do it with perfection.

I'm kind of confused by all of this X-Raptor news. Was the ride actually announced or is it all still a rumor?

B&M should definetaly go for the laying-down-on-a-comfy-bed-coaster (LDOACB for short). No one has thought of it and it won't hurt that bad....hopefully.

I'm surprised we don't have an X-Raptor topic yet. If I find it, I will merge. Gardaland has announced X-Raptor, a B&M 4th Dimension coaster.

You can see pictures here:

It has recently been discovered that the ride has 3 inversions!

A new video from the construction site at Gardaland has been posted to Parksmania (http://www.parksmania.it/news.php?nid=5180&lang=eng) this week which goes into great detail about the entire layout of the new coaster.

Depending on how the coaster turns out, I would really like to see one of these at an American Park, maybe even Kentucky Kingdom.

I thought this was a new design? Looks like a floorless Diver to me.

David
02-03-2011, 08:07 PM
You have to be kidding me, are you blind?

The seats are hanging off parallel to the track, that is clearly not a new design.

/sarcasm

Austin
02-03-2011, 08:48 PM
^ Which is like a Diver's train if you take out the row above the track and a few seats in between the others.

David
02-03-2011, 10:08 PM
These seats lie NEXT TO the track, ie. 'parallel.'

There's no comparison. That's like saying a sit down woodie is the same as a sit down steel.

Austin
02-03-2011, 10:12 PM
I think you need to compare both train styles again. What I said isnt unreasonable. And it makes sense.

David
02-03-2011, 10:30 PM
I'm not even going to argue, because my point has already been made. The seats reside parallel to the track sides.

Austin
02-03-2011, 10:35 PM
Thats the same thing I said. I don't see how you can't see the train as a modified Diver train. All they did was move the seats down parallel to the track, took out the middle row where the track is, and then spaced the seats out. You basically have a Diver train thats been heavily modified. This isn't even 4D. X2 is 4D, this isn't as far as that video can show.

With the new pictures, that's definately a new train design. Wasn't it rumored from the start that the seats wouldn't move on this ride at first, but they were going to slowly work out the kinks and get the seats moving after the ride was built?

Austin
02-11-2011, 08:13 PM
I know its a new design but I was just stating it looked like they started off in the designing of them using a dive train and then slowly making the changes from there.

I think that is still the case about the seats. Screamscape reported that on a future version they might spin/move.

David
02-14-2011, 04:40 PM
They will defiently not be moving on this one, but in the future, I could see them moving.

Austin

I doubt it, I don't think B&M has been able to do enough testing on that.
