Got some projects completed, lots of work done and most importantly went back to school in the past week so lets rewind and see what all happened lately.
Arcade Expansion
We have officially completed this minor project and exceeded our goals in it! We started the Expansion this spring but after Kentucky Kingdom closed we stopped all necessary projects to focus on determining our new theme and focus. We have since begun finishing the projects we delayed then. We now have 408 arcade games! One of the largest that I know of, and its really great. Of course we are not done with the arcade. Every now and then we will add a handful of games and I plan to organize all the games into categories to help find a game easier.
New Forum Colors
Well in my first week in Web Design I learned about some helpful tools to make websites and check certain things. I ran the site through these tests and we failed the contrast test so we have changed around some colors to make the site easier to view. The forum color has changed from a dark shade of grey to a more lighter grey that makes black stand out easier. Which in turn allowed us to pass the contrast test for Brightness and Difference on all parts except 3 where we passed one part of the test but failed another area.
New Spelling Rule
As a reminder this new rule will officially take effect on September 1st, 2010.

Other Projects
We are currently in the process of finalizing our new contest/game for the site and it should debut this off-season. The index is being worked on slowly but will kick into high gear this week as I plan to finish it by next Sunday. There is about 40 parks left to add. We still plan for a Winter 2010/2011 finish date of the whole index. We also have quite a few water parks to add which is another point we are lacking. All major expansion efforts will start to slow down as we hit 500 parks. We may add even more but those will come as needed. Ride pages will start soon after we reach 500 parks.
Another project I plan to finish this month is making the forums easier to use. I have completed part 1 but part 2 requires new FAQ's so that there will be a help database to assist future and current members. We also canceled the radio project due to a inability to make one successfully.
