Sorry there is no pictures :( it rained for about 2 hours (sprinkle on and off) and i was only able to take one picture but it was pretty bad and my camera died after that...
But i can still tell you what happened. haha
First we got to the park at like 11am and it was sprinkling outside, and part of Allegheny rd was flooded due to massive rain the night before making driving to Darien Lake a little bit more complicated:mad:
When we got to the park i HAD to ride Predator with its new trains (from Voyage at Holiday World) The seats were more comfortable then its old trains and they look nicer. Though i couldn't really tell if they made the ride smoother or not or if the re-tracking helped because wooden coasters plus downpour of rain all night does not help. It was a bit rough because of the rain (which i always seem to forget) But overall it was a wonderful ride consists of lots of airtime and overall a good Woodie. btw this ride is 20 years old and its 21st season of operation.
Next of course was Ride of Steel! Now the good thing that the park was practically empty because it was raining a bit and it was Sunday... But for some reason Ride of Steels red train is M.I.A. as its not even on the transfer track.. Im guessing they are waiting for a part or something (thats what happened to the Blue train last year for about a month they took the train apart and waited on a part) But did not really matter with the small crowd it would of been running 1 train anyways. Of course its fun and filled with awesome Intamin AG airtime and the setting next to the water is just a good effect of running on water or something.. ROS was partially painted about from the last hill to the start of the lift was painted... it is suspected to be finished next season.. This ride is 11yrs old and its 12th season of operation
Boomerang was closed due to technical problems and they had staff and maintenance at the ride most of the day but i like the way the ride looked brand new because they had painted it for the 2010 season (also getting rid of the rust on the loop support and part of the loop track). This ride is 12 years old and under its 13th season of operation
OCC Motocoaster seemed to be the only ride running with 2 trains... But being that it is a 16 person train its a good thing it was 2 trains... The ride is nice and a good family coaster. I ride it alot because i like the seats and how they are motorcycles etc... But ppl say there back hurts after the ride... well if they listen and lean forward the whole ride instead of trying to sit up they wouldn't have a problem they even say to keep leaning forward for the whole ride. This ride is 2 years old and in its 3rd season of operation (DL's Baby Coaster)
Viper was looking nice with its new (old colors) its new and old colors because last year it was green track and when the ride opened in 1981 it was all black... I do like how DL is going back to its old ways before SF took over.. Some rides are getting there original names and some rides are running like they did when they first opened (like the sleigh ride now runs forward and backwards again). This ride was the same old same old and it just felt great to be back on this arrow looper! This ride is 29 years old and in its 30th season of operation! (DL's grandpa coaster)
Mind Eraser is the same old same old... Hopefully this is one of the rides that will receive paint in 2011 because its starting to show its years.. Maybe even a ride over by ME cause its lonely over there on the other side of the lake next to the parking lot. Maybe you would see a jump in riders if a new thrill ride was over there... even though it does have a good ridership surprisingly. This ride is 13 years old and in its 14th season of operation.
Swirl City (new for 2010) Swirl city was just amazing! Even though its only 50ft tall that thing really picks up speed! Cannon Ball Run is just a simple bowl which i like those alot. Turbo twins are 2 normal slides that pick up speed really fast.. One is more of a dark slide and the other is more light in the tunnel or it is just open.. Mr.Twister was my all time favorite and has become my favorite water slide ever! It consists of 3 tantrums which are the reason why it makes it my favorite... basically they are mini funnels and they give u the thrill of being off the edge... you almost feel like you are going to fall out of your tube but you don't. they even warn you that you will feel that off the edge feeling (i just told them BRING IT ON!!!!) And what just the icing on the cake was the dark (i mean pitch black) helix at the end before going into bottom pool. Mr.Twister is an awesome crazy ride that i will ride again and again!
Laxy Days Lagoon (new for 2010) basically its about time we got an actual lazy river! we had "flood gate falls" which has been SBNO since 2005 and it was a river that lasted like forever... there were small openings into the next section which u could possibly spend about 5 minutes in depending on your luck just going around and around.. the only good part was the ending where u go down a steep hill into the bottom pool... Lazy Days lagoon is a nice and relaxing river with some water falls and sprays to make it exciting... i tested my limbo skills to avoid being sprayed at and well it was epic win! only got sprayed once because basically it was aimed at the top of the tube...
Well this concludes my TR sorry there was no photo's :( the only one i was able to take sucked because it got blurry cause my hand decided to move... after that my batteries died and i did not have spare.. wow i felt stupid...
I will be sure to have plenty of pictures next time... and pictures of seabreeze when i go this Thursday (6/10/10)
