As you all know we have been in the process of re-naming the site and giving it a new look and theme to go with it. Well I am proud to announce that today, June 1st, we are officially launching our new name, look and theme. We have been implementing the changes slowly over time so there shouldn't be a lot of problems with the launch. To begin here is a list of changes you will find:

Skins: We have two new official skins. Both use the same banners except one has a glare on the badge and the other doesn't. These skins are 10x better than the previous default skins we have been using. These are mostly gradient based and they are really easy on the eye and simple.

Staff Colors: To avoid problems with recognizing staff, we have given our moderators a new green colored user name so that the old blue would not blend into the background.

URL's: Every link I could possibly edit was changed. They now point to the domain we bought 4 months ago (www.amusementparkauthority.com) and I have spent all day Memorial Day swapping links all over the site. You might run across a link that points to sfkkonline.com but it shouldn't cause much a problem.

Park Index: As I was going page by page changing URL's, I fixed a few pages and updated the information on each. I also moved all the parks from Canada and Mexico into their own little Index to get the International Park Index going. In addition to that, 2 pages were added to the Water Park Index, and 7 were added to the Park Index for the US. If my figures are correct we now have 145 pages in all.

Post Indicator Images: These were swapped out from the Six Flags logo to a new APA Badge. The gray badge(below) indicates no new posts and the gold badge indicates new posts.

Favicon: This has been swapped for the gray post indicator image.

VB Experience: We have upgraded from 3.4.8 to 3.8.5. It adds more functionality and ways to get points. Also checked all other products we are running.

All In all this is a great time for APA and its members. Now that we have our new theme and name we can begin to move forward and grow. My first goal is heavy advertising using our ad credits and getting the Park Index's up to at leas 200 pages total (55 more).

I would like to take this time to thank our Graphic Artist Nick from SFATW. Without him we wouldn't be able to do this today. He has worked all month on the project and its all come together. Of course I also have to thank our staff here at APA for their input and help in the change.

In the coming weeks and months you should see some new things happening also.

We encourage our members to advertise APA on other sites using these predesigned signatures.

No Glare:

Remember to replace the * with a / for it to work.

I hope you enjoy the new look and theme. If you have any problems our staff will be here to help you.

Haha yep. Thanks for helping me get this perfect.

We just resized the banners to fit perfectly on a 1024x768 resolution monitor screen. It should no longer "hang" off the right side of the page.

Everything is going perfect and looks like we have little or no problems with the change.

Special thanks to my widescreen monitor. I wish the whole forum pages were set to a cirtain width tho so it always stays with the banner.

I am using 1680 x 1050.. How come you cant resize the page withs?
Also why cant I upload my own Avatar?

Austin

You cant? Let me see whats up with it. I'm using 1440 x 900 so it fits a bit better.

Because of the way Vb codes pages. I put the link to the image and it inserts it where the banner is supposed to go. I might be able to get the banner to work on every resolution but im not up to par in HTML yet to mess with it.

It's letting me. Is there an error uploading the avatar or can you not find a place to upload it?

I have an idea as to why but not enough time to test my theory out at this time. I hope I'm wrong though

That's weird. On my CP it has an option to upload it under the section with our Avatar Gallery.

If you want to, upload the Avatar to your photo galleries in your account and send me a PM with the image. I'll make edit your avatar for you.

Ok it worked for me on the new domain, wonder if it will work on the old domain

Works on both domains. Maybe its the skin. What skin are you using Kevin?

Edit: Nvm. I hacked into his account to see what he sees and hes right its not there. I think I have the problem narrowed down.

EDIT: Problem Solved. I had a problem in the usergroup set up for our affiliates. Just put him as a registered user and then added the affiliates group as a secondary. Checked his account again and it works.

Austin
06-03-2010, 03:52 PM
I think its because my username is so short. Guess I'll fix it in a second. Nothing much else to do so might as well.

I just took the marquee code off to make it stationary.

Thank you for the updates.
Also, make that four: I am a nice Administrator on my Website (http://vaufans.forumakers.com/), and I do not abuse my powers. If any of you want to join, feel free to. Also remember to stay with Amusement Park Authority. They are a nice site too. :)

So that means I'm allowed to abuse my powers?

Thinking twice about that post? Just saying, you know. Changing my signature every second. Because you think your funny. But when I change it, you have to change it again to something completely different. I'm not gonna be an asshole, but it gets annoying. Just telling you that. Thank you :)
