Guess its about time we get this going with the big expansion getting ready to take place and all thats going on down there.
Btw like the prefix? Anyway heres some of the basic things going on around the World.
Hollywood Studios:
Rock N Roller Coaster Featuring: Aerosmith - Reopens tomorrow after a 7 day refurbishment to the coaster itself and various other things. The Giant Guitar out front is slightly behind schedule and should be reopened in a few days. Specifics on the ride itself was work on the magnetic launch and brake system, as well as debugging a few backstage ride issues. A new floor was also installed in the gift shop as well. Sadly they didnt accomplish everything so another closure should happen sometime in June after Star Wars Weekends to finish up everything. Im hoping its not down during my trip though.
Muppet Vision - Finally reopened after a somewhat major upgrade. The sound and video was all digitized and the projectors have been thought to been switched to Real Disney 3D systems which are practically top of the line. The preshow area got a new carpet as well. Theres been a few glitches with the AA's and the movie though so they should get it all fixed soon.
Epcot:
Monorail Beams - Finally the Execs at the park have realized how nasty the beams have become and have begun work on pressure washing them off during the night time hours. They now look almost brand new.
Honey I Shrunk The Audience - It will finally die this June as it becomes transformed into Captain EO - Tribute. This was long overdue. HISTA has to be the most boring 3D ride ever made.
Magic Kingdom:
Cinderella Castle - All scrims and walls have now come down and now reveals the beautiful icon once again. For those who dont know, the castle got a major clean up again. The moat was drained and some of the "bricks" were replaced and the concrete replaced in some areas. The castle itself was 100% repainted and I must say, I have never seen it look so good before.
Resorts:
Pop Century - Sadly they threw out plans for the legendary years (1900's - 1940's) and it will instead become the Disney Art of Animation Resort. It will be themed to Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Cars. It is expected to be up by July of 2011 which isnt surprising considering they have the shells for about 30% of the rooms up and the shell of the lobby up aswell. This will feature the long rumored suites also. The Little Mermaid wings will contain roughly 870 guest rooms, and in Cars, Lion King and Nemo will be roughly 1120 Family Suites.
