Batman: The Ride- SFGAdv (basically any SF park, they are all the same, excluding SFM)
I object!
The original one at SFGAm is infact the best, because it was built for that land and the trees and such have grown around it really well. Then again, I've only been on 5 BTR clones.

^Indeed, i have only been on one. Exactly why I put SFGAdv next to it.

I've been on 7 Batman clones, and I really can't tell any difference in the ride experience. As for the theming, SFGAm is the best by far, but I can't tell a difference in how well they run.

yeah, I guess they all run about the same, but the placement of the ride is best at SFGAm
1. Superman: Kyptron Coaster - SFFT

3. Rattler - SFFT
4. Poltergeist - SFFT
5. BatmanTR Clones - (SFOT, SFFT, SWSA)

What's with all the love for Poltergeist??
Reason 1: I lived so close to Six Flags Fiesta Texas that I could see the park out of my window for 6 years. That park has stuck with me as one of my favorites.
Reason 2: Jp lives a little over an hour from SFFT.
Reason 3: Poltergeist is a very fun coaster!

That's not really fair, just because the coaster is close to you and you've grown up with it it gets an automatic place in your Top 10...
I understand if you actually really like the coaster, but ranking it high just for sentimental value seems a little biased to me.

That's just how I grew to like it so much. I like the style (rides that are similar, such as Joker's Jinx, Rockin' Rollercoaster, etc.) a lot and Poltergeist just got chosen as the one that stands out of the bunch for that reason. That coaster "model" does get ranked in that spot for me, not just sentimental reasons.
It's very interesting compiling the results for the "site's top 10". Let's just say, it makes it pretty clear which region most of our members are from.

I bet in your top ten you have a coaster in your home park. Since I have not been to like everypark in the U.S.. The only parks I been to is SFFT, SFOT, SWSA, KI, Indianapolis Zoo, and Walt Disney World, and the coasters I put are the ones that I really enjoy riding. I just think it is fair.

Please tell me El Toro was amazing.

06-30-2010, 11:30 PM
What, is that a low ranking or a high ranking? :p
It wasn't amazing. It was good. First drop was great, but the two hills didn't give the kind of airtime I like and I had to keep my mind focused on the track so I didn't get vertigo (don't get my wrong, I love ejector, but El Toro's was just...cheap) and it just wasn't as enjoyable as other airtime. Same goes for the hill over Rolling Thunder. The ride was short, and when I look back, I try to think of what was so amazing and there really isn't much to the ride. I think I just expected too much. #8 is still really good out of 205 coasters.

What train and where were you sitting? Front row doesn't have the same airtime as the middle or back. If you were in the back or middle, you probably rode Hector, the b-train aka the Stride tagged train. Jorge, the A-train, is much more of an airtime producer in my opinion than Hector. If that isn't it, then either you had a bad experience, you had a "dud" ride, or your expectations were beyond belief.

I rode El Toro 6 times so I experienced both trains. I got very front, very back, and all around the middle... Just not as good as everyone made it out to be.

I know what to tell you. You don't see any or many woodies that have airtime like El Toro, constant speed like El Toro, the height of El Toro, and the steepness of El Toro.

All those things don't just automatically make it a good coaster...

All those things don't just automatically make it a good coaster...
Yet what else can you get out of a wooden coaster? Inversions? KI tried that and it just hurt people on SOB. Backwards? It's been done already and has limitations to it (cars, wheels, seats, etc). Effects? Terminator has fire, audio (well did), etc. Launch? Way too hard to design because the wheels won't be able to maintain that much force in such a quick amount of time on that type of rails unless they use steel rails like what Texas Giant is getting.
And yet, if all those things don't automatically make it good, how come it can be visa versa with coasters like Maverick, which is small, compact, and not as popular to the world as TTD and MF are to the world?

I don't know what you're getting at? El Toro is unique? Okay, yeah, it is. A lot of coasters are unique, but that doesn't always make it good. El Toro is my #8; there are 7 coasters I've ridden that I just enjoy more. I don't care what the rides do or what the public thinks of them. They are better rides to me.

But El Toro has, IMO, a one-of-a-kind experience. Your not gonna get the same ride every time, nor are you gonna get the same experience out of El Toro compared to Rolling Thunder, which is lift is smaller El Toro's first airtime hill. And yes, look at Maverick, X2, I305, MF, and Boulder Dash. All of them unique and are loved by riders. I don't many unique ride that suck (excluding HRRR)

I love nostalgic coasters, and I really do like Iron Wolf. I'm probably the only person you'll find that would find Iron Wolf smooth. I guess I just like a coaster that will rattle me up.

I think manta is the best
I was at Sea World Orlando about 3 weeks before Manta opened. It looked like a really cool ride, and I'm really disappointed that I didn't get to ride it. It's looking like I will get the opportunity to ride it again in April through!

I agree with the Manta statement, it was definitely a top 10 coaster, which is surprising considering fliers are usually lackluster.

EDIT: Just looked back on the thread and realized I already asked that same question. :p Nevermind!
