I like how the maps look to, on the 2010 map the only changes on it were the water slides were colored orange. When I first saw the slides, I didn't likeit at first but it grew on to me like batman @ sfmm. I will have pictures soon.

Another Johnny Rocket's? How many do they have now?
They have 3. There is another thing I didn't mention for the 2010 season. The park is not doing that video thing on THBS and the building that you get your video of you on the ride is just standing there with nothing open.
I just saw this on the site Boomerang is down. I herd from lots of people saying Boomerang sometimes have breakdowns alot..

As of las weekend it has reopened:)
I was on Bing.com and notice that when you are on bird's eye of the park, and rotate it around until the compass rose facing south (You can see the hole layout of Superman). If you have it facing the south you will notice that the park (Scream Area) has snow on the ground and on some of the rides.

That's pretty cool.
Have they repainted Blowout and Twister yet? How do they look?
They were painting it during HITP but they were yellow and then on opening day it was orange. Everytime I went to the park, I forgot to take a picture. So the next time I go maybe when the Bamboozle Roadshow comes I will take a picture of the ride. (Me and and my friend is planning on going to the concert).

On the map, it looks like Mine Shaft was painted yellow. Did this really happen or is it just a map error?
^ I thinks an error, because it is still white. So far I only know only two errors on the park map (2010).

I went to www.fiestatexas.net and some posted this by "mrrollercoasterman":
The Movie "Blank Check," was it filmed at Fiesta Texas? Today I was watching TV it was previewing for tonight, and I saw this wooden roller coaster in the back round and it looked like the rattler, then I re-winded it and it said RATTLER on the old trains used in 1994 then I saw the quarry walls and said it most definitely had to be filmed there!
Looked on youtube and shows many rides in the movie from SFFT.
It also has a small clip from the rattler back to its glory days!
In the Video the Fiesta Texas Part is shown starting at 5:00

^I like the semi-western look of the Johnny Rockets, but that M&M poster in front of Scream really pisses me off. It seems like SFFT really went downhill under the Shapiro era. Hopefully it can be restored to its former glory with its great theming and atmosphere.
I do like the resturants like Panda Express, Cold Stone, Papa Johns (Rockville), and Johnny Rockets in front of Road Runner Express is themed to it themed section..
But Scream looks alot better than than that M&M's poster. Scream original poster than the M&M one.

^I always liked the old banner on Scream. It was perfect for the Rockville area with a Drive-In Theater type facade. Then they had the old movie posters around the ride area. I wouldn't mind if they put karate kid ads there. :p

A new fireworks and laser light show will fill the nighttime sky this spring when Six Flags Fiesta Texas begins its new season March 5.
The theme park announced that its fireworks extravaganza was being revamped Tuesday as it unveiled changes planned for the upcoming season. The park's Zaragoza Theatre also will feature a new show, but the details will not be divulged until next year.
The fireworks show, called the Lone Star Spectacular, will include a new storyline and technical enhancements presented on the park's 100-foot quarry walls.
Fiesta Texas President Martin Bozer said the spectacular was cutting edge when it opened in 1992. New technologies will make for a “bigger and bolder production that will still pay homage to our great state of Texas,” he said.
Also scheduled next year is a return of the Starburst Summer Concert Series presenting well-known country artists, officials said.

I must say, even though the show was designed 15 years before the last time I saw it, the show was still REALLY cool!
IMO, the show was fine how it was, and it still impressed everyone. Hopefully the new show will be much better, but I doubt many people will notice a difference. I consider this investment more of a "keeping the show" than "upgrading the show" if you know what I mean. I wouldn't have been surprised if Weber cut it with what has been going on lately.
I guess this is what Shapiro meant when he said the anniversary would be show-based.
I loved the Firework show also, but they could really need this if they are competing with " Disney's World Of Color".

It would need work to compete with WOC. WOC just set the bar very high for laser shows.

It really isn't that far behind World of Color though, you don't have to close 1/3 of a park for it, only a very short path.
The laser work in Lonestar Spectacular was incredible, and it was projected onto a cliff.

Have you seen WOC? No one has done a show like that ever. And they only close the back part less then 2 hours before the park closes so you dont lose anything because theres still alot of other rides in the park and there will be a whole new section when its finished. Also I'm not sure but I think that Paradise Pier only closes if there is strong winds that could blow water out to the pathways, not sure though.
I love how they launched the fireworks onto the quarry wall as the sound of a hammer hitting.

The show looks cool, but it really doesn't impress me. I've seen the full show on Theme Park Review, and it's just a bunch of fountains with colors and Disney movies that we have all seen a million times. So, it's like the Ballagio Fountains with Disney movies. While it hasn't done at a theme park all put together like this before, everything in the show has been done before.
I just don't get it, I think most people who love it, they love it just because it's Disney.

Nitro, the only reason its cool is because it has flame throwers. Don't you know that?
But you're right, the only reason why people praise it, is because its Disney.

It its SFFT and SFNEs anniversys, 20th and 80th respectively, then they're both going to get big attractions seeing at SFMM and SFOT got big attractions for theirs.
Fiesta Texas offically posted their press-release on Holiday in the Park 2010 (http://www.sixflags.com/fiestaTexas/info/news_2010HIP.aspx), but one thing catch my eye when they didn't mention the Wiggles World for the kids:
Holiday in the Park also offers thrilling rides and fun for the whole family including the ultimate Goliath inverted coaster, Scooby-Doo Ghost Blasters, the 200-ft. tall Scream, and a delightful children’s play area in Spassburg. Once you’ve hit some rides, enjoy tasty holiday park treats including tamales, turkey legs, and hot chocolate… and find the perfect holiday ornament too! Why don't they just say Wiggles World?!?!
On this other link has all the information on Holiday In The Park, and I click on "Holiday Snack Offerings" (http://www.sixflags.com/fiestaTexas/info/food_holidayinthepark.aspx) and since Wiggles World is in Spassburg and they have a resturant called "Yummy Yummy Cafe" it's now renamed to "The Little Tykes Café".
Spassburg
Ben & Jerry's: fresh waffle cones filled with your favorite Ben & Jerry's flavors
Sangerfest Halle: hand carved ham or turkey with mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, turkey legs and bread bowls with various soups. Also fajitas, taco salad, nachos, tacos and fresh and hot Papa John's pizza. For Bavarian flair, enjoy Kiolbassa Sausage, frankfurters, sauerkraut, red cabbage and German potato salad.
The Little Tykes Café: treats for kids of all ages
Try our desserts, churros, pretzels, hot chocolate, fresh coffee and mini donuts
Check out our fajitas and tacos!
What do you think???

Possibly because Weber wants to drop the Wiggles Characters because the rights are too costly, and many young kids barely know the wiggles because they've been off the air for years.

A new broadway show coming to Fiesta Texas in 2011!!
April 4, 2011
Ovation Brings a Broadway Flair to Six Flags Fiesta Texas Beginning June 11
The bright lights of Broadway come to Six Flags Fiesta Texas as the park debuts its brand-new show – Ovation, opening in the newly renovated Zaragoza Theater beginning June 11.
Guests will find themselves singing and dancing along to their favorite Broadway tunes as this exciting new production incorporates video projection, special effects, unique lighting and elaborate costumes to create an electric, high-energy event. Ovation features approximately 20 performers, many from other award-winning park shows, and a nine-piece band.
Dreamgirls and the Jersey Boys face-off in a musical duel, performing the sounds of Motown blended with ’60s style rock ‘n roll. Ovation also integrates an upbeat dance sequence to “Dancing Queen” from Mamma Mia. Recent Broadway favorites from American Idiot, Rent, In the Heights, and Wicked will be performed before the entire cast assembles onstage for the grand finale featuring songs from The Wedding Singer, Memphis and Hairspray.
Ovation will be featured daily Wednesday through Friday, with two shows on Saturday and Sunday. The theatre will be dark on Monday and Tuesday.
Also on tap this summer – the all-new Lone Star Nights Laser and Fireworks Celebration. This guest favorite has been completely redesigned with enhanced video projection, new lasers, audio, pyrotechnics and special effects. The resulting spectacular features bigger, brighter, more animated images broadcast on the quarry walls; opening in May.
Award-winning shows and thrilling roller coasters like Goliath, racing at speeds of over 50 mph, Superman Krypton Coaster, and Poltergeist all combine to provide fun for the entire family. All ages may enjoy the high-speed action on Road Runner Express, dodging boulders and racing in and out of The Rattler coaster. The tikes in your group can soar through the air on ZoomJets in KIDZOPOLIS, an imaginative play-park designed just for kids.
The STARBURST® Summer Concert Series returns Thursday, July 14 with We the Kings and The Downtown Fiction. We the Kings is a pop punk band best known for their songs “Check Yes Juliet” and “We’ll Be a Dream” featuring Demi Lovato. The Downtown Fiction is an indie pop band whose single “I Just Wanna Run” was recently featured on an episode of MTV’s The Jersey Shore. The concert is free with park admission. A separate concert ticket is required. Tickets are available the day of the event on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
Bathing suits are in order this summer at White Water Bay - free with park admission beginning April 30. For maximum water thrills, Big Bender delivers plummeting dips, dark twisting tunnels, and refreshing waterfalls – watch out for that 50-foot drop. The fun continues in Lone Star Lagoon, a Texas shaped wave pool filled with over half a million gallons of refreshing water.
For added incentives, purchase a 2011 Season Pass to receive a value-book with hundreds of dollars of in-park savings on food, games and souvenirs, free tickets for friends and access to special events like Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park. Season Passes are $64.99 (plus tax), or $59.99 each (plus tax) when you order a Season Pass 4-pack. Order your 2011 Season Pass online at sixflags.com.

That's a big waste of money! I really hope Rattler doesn't go steel, at least until SFFT gets a real wooden coaster somewhere else.
It will be a waste, me and my friend loved the ride yesturday. We rode in the back seat and we enjoyed it more than boomerang that we rode in the back also. We rode Rattler with lights on in the tunnel, I rather had no rights. But Fiesta Texas needs to consider to build a new woodie than anything. There is alot of room behind Frisbee to build the next coaster..

Its rough during the whole ride, but you can feel the topper track after the first drop to the hill over the mountian. But the ride is still very rough through the helix that I love..

Personally from all accounts, the ride is beyond conventional repairs. This is the only way to bring Rattler back to its original form. Just to think that some minor physics and engineering work could have prevented most of these issues. It's sad really.
When they said Texas Giant Treatment does that mean rebuilding 90% of the ride? I'm sure some parts of the ride have beaten itself to pieces and would have to be rebuilt and reinforced. Lets just hope they don't come out with some piece of crap train's or make the turns to where they need "windows" to keep you safe. But I think we can finally say Six Flags is targeting their roughest SOB's and getting them fixed in a way that they are finally more enjoyable to ride for everyone.
Lets just hope Cedar Fair is taking some notes here. They could use it
Here's my guess on Rattler, it will have the steepest drop than Texas Giant and the drop will go down all the way to the water of Gulley like opening year, have a overbank turn on the second drop over 90degress. And then whatever they want to do with the rest of the ride. If they do this then I hope they revamp the station since it is to narrow to walk through to get to the ride.. If you been to the park you would know what I mean..

Personally from all accounts, the ride is beyond conventional repairs. This is the only way to bring Rattler back to its original form. Just to think that some minor physics and engineering work could have prevented most of these issues. It's sad really.

The problem is that Texas Giant is not designed with a wooden coaster experience in mind, and wooden coasters have a place, and it's just one of those things that every park should have. While Rattler was getting rough, it wasn't un-rideable like Texas Giant, and it is not the roughest wooden coaster in the chain that I have ridden. After they added topper track, JP says that it has gotten smoother. If topper track works on the ride, then the whole ride should get it. If topper track doesn't work on the ride, then they shouldn't have put any on the ride to begin with. Right now, they're just wasting money if they plan on just ripping up the topper track in a couple months.
If SFFT wants to turn Rattler into a steel coaster, fine, but they better have a new wooden coaster in the plans for the near future. Unless something major has changed in the past 3 years, Rattler is one of the most popular rides in the park. You can go on a tuesday and wait less than 15 minutes for every ride, but have a wait over an hour for Rattler. (Is that still a correct statement, Jp?) People at that park love wooden coasters, and while I love air-time machines like Texas Giant appears to be, they should not sacrifice their only wooden coaster for one.

Yep, I agree. The station, and the ramps in the queue were way too narrow. It was really weird.

Well they probably designed both so that the topper track can be used with the type TG got. Just my guess, not sure. Parts of the ride will need to be removed, reinforced, and re-designed to take the load that the ride delivers.

If Rattler switches between steel and wooden track, I will have lost all faith in Six Flags.
Yes I waited around an hour for the ride on Friday. Alot of people love the ride and they can just leave it as it is and if people want to complain about the roughness on a wooden coaster then they can just drive 5 hours up north to ride a smooth one.

And if that many people ride it, it obviously isn't that bad. Texas Giant wasn't even running full trains when I rode it and the park was fairly crowded. If the ridership was going down on Rattler, then I might support a refurb, but it's not.

I'm hoping if this turns out to further prove the usefulness of the ride track that they have invented that Cedar Fair will finally try to use it. God knows they need to lol.
Lone Star Nights is Now OPEN!! In fact it is going on right now!!

The All-New Lone Star Nights Laser and Fireworks Celebration Set to Illuminate the Quarry Walls at Six Flags Fiesta Texas on May 28
Six Flags Fiesta Texas, America’s favorite show park, will be illuminated with revolutionary lasers, enhanced 3D video projection and custom pyrotechnics during the premiere of the all-new Lone Star Nights Laser and Fireworks Celebration, presented by Kraft Foods. Broadcast on a football field-sized section of the park’s quarry walls, this all new show makes its Memorial Day weekend debut on May 28. The new celebratory storyline is a salute to the Lone Star State of today, highlighting the various cultures, places and people that make Texas unique.
From the tip of the Gulf Coast and up to the Panhandle, Lone Star Nights will make stops in a variety of iconic locations throughout Texas. A pinnacle destination is, of course, San Antonio, showcasing the heritage, flavors, colors and music of the city. The salute also touches on the Alamo and the San Antonio River. The show pays tribute to the Armed Forces and their dedication to freedom and our country. Lone Star Nights also highlights the sports teams and universities in Texas, with a focus on the sense of pride and community they evoke.
Lone Star Nights incorporates innovative new technology, with nine computers powering the show compared to three used in the previous production. The new, upgraded technology, including new video projectors and lasers, offer 3D special effects and “video mapping,” which creates a more vivid and visually stimulating display. The enhanced capabilities will bring amazing images to life.
“This is a magnificent new production that our guests are going to want to see again and again,” said Six Flags Fiesta Texas Park President Martin Bozer. “The enhanced technology creates a full-sensory display that truly celebrates all things Texas.”
Advanced audio, pyrotechnic and special effects round out the show. Some of the pyrotechnics have been custom-made to especially complement the production. Lone Star Nights will light up the quarry walls beginning May 28 on evenings when the park closes at 9 p.m.

If you are planning on going to Fiesta Texas soon, please take note!!
Due to a fireworks ban enacted by the city of San Antonio Fire Dept., fireworks will currently not be included in showings of Lone Star Nights. Video, laser, and multimedia portions of the show will remain. All your favorite rides, shows, attractions, and our free water park (with paid admission) will still be available.
