Guess Who?! Yep I'm back with another PTR! Enjoy!

During winter break my family and I ventured back to Dallas (Same as last year) Only this time we decided we would be going to San Antonio as well because new credits are always good credits, well unless there SLC's or those dreadful Zamperla kiddie credits that happen to be very painful. Thankfully we didn't have to deal with anything of the sort on this trip.

First off I made a VIDEO for SFOT clicky clicky.......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7057SQCrOU

I'm sure most of you have heard of "Holiday In The Park". If you haven't, well your in luck because i'm gonna tell you all about it......

First off Ive only been to SFOT during HITP, and its my second favorite park in the chain, the park is well populated with a variety of rides even during this event (BTR, MR. Freeze, Flashback, & Texas Giant are closed during HITP) During this event SF brings in many unique food items that can only be bought during this time of year, some examples include: Many different unique fried items from oreos to green beans, hot soups in bread bowls, fajitas cooked in very large frying pans, and hot drinks in souvenir holiday mugs.

Also During HITP, the park is vastly decorated with MANY lights and decorations (I regret not taking very many pictures of the decorations, but I have some from SFFT so look for that PTR later on) I Tend to get overwhelmed with taking pictures of the coasters

Everyone knows that the true reason to visit SFOT is for the outstanding Schwartzkopt Masterpiece dubbed the name SHOCKWAVE. Seriously this thing is freaking insane! Definetly rated a top ten ride for me, the front delivers some nice floater air, but the back delivers some of the most wtf ejector air imaginable, plus the ride starts off with two of the most powerful back to back loops that make it feel like your being plastered to the seat. The General Public like always are to stupid to realize how good the ride is and are to busy bowing down to Titan, so this ride is always a station wait.

some random ride reviews..

*Tony Hawk's Big Spin - smooth, fun, fast, intense as always, im a big fan of these clones. This one happens to be my favorite because they load two cars at a time unlike most of the others which only load one car at a time.

*Titan - The extra helix just put the icing on the cake for this Giovanola creation. I'm a huge fan of the notsosteapfeelslikeyourfallingforever first drop.

*Shockwave - See above.

*Superman Tower Of Power I belive this is the tallest of its kind in the world (Maybe?!) This is my favorite S&S tower so far, however I have yet to ride one of the tiny ones which I hear are pretty impressive. However for me most of what I love about drop towers is the heights they bring you to, which is why this one is pretty awesome, Its super tall!

*La Vibora - one intense bobseld... quick direction changes are the best.

*Runaway Mountain - Why doesn't anyone talk about this ride?! Its almost my favorite ride in the park! Theres a wtf drop in there somewhere which really takes me by surprise every single time.

*Judge Roy Scream - A fun ride for what it is.

*Frosty's Sled Hill - FRIGGEN FANTASTIC!!!!!! (Yes they have a sledding hill and its one good ole time!)

Well most of you probably dont even read this gibberish so I'll get to what your really here for....PICTURES! Make sure you watch the VIDEO!

Yay, Bobbinbop is back! lol

Great PTR, as always.

I thought SFOT was a nice park, but I absolutely HATED their coaster selection, then they close 2 of their 4 good coasters for HIP (Mr. Freeze and Batman, Shockwave and Runaway Mountain are the 2 others).

Seeing parts of Texas Giant makes me VERY happy!

It's funny how you don't hear very much about this park for how big of a city it is in.

Looking forward to SFFT, my old home park.

I really hope I don't let you down with SFFT, one of the days I was suppose to be there they didn't open because about an hour of rain earlier in the day and it didn't rain at all the rest of the day, So because of that I had to squeeze Sea World San Antonio and SFFT into one day and by the time I got to SFFT it was basically dark already so I don't have many pictures, theres still a few good ones though! I guess you'll just have to see when I post it :)

Jeez they wasted no time in dismantling Texas giant lol. Is it a full rebuild? It'd be gay if it was just sections being rebuilt. Itd just skip from smooth and new to old and busted repeatedly

I think its a full rebuild, at least that's what Six Flags made it sound like anyway. I really hope they don't just rebuild sections

Lol u know what i mean nitro. Itd be like thunder run then. They half-assed thunder run in track replacement last year and replaced only the drop, and a few sections so it oes from smooth(nearly) to feeling like your bein smacked with a metal rod in your chest lol.

haha, the first time I went to SFKK over the summer I thought Thunder Run was very smooth, but then when I went back for FF I realized the whole smooth then rough thing, and it sucked!

Great pictures!

All the times I have been there I have never rode Titan. I am scared of that ride, then when I went inside the station and waited for my friends to get off, I see little kids get on the ride.

This whole talk about gay coasters and smoothness and roughness is making this topic akward. LOL

Anyway, nice PTR. Out of all the Six Flags parks i haven't went to this, i want to go to this one (because it's the first one) and Magic Mountain (because of the soon to be 17 coasters).

You mean you actually lost consciousness, or just lost vision for a few seconds, I lost my vision for a few seconds every time I ride Titan, that's normal

^ and ^^ How do you actually blackout on a rollercoaster? I can't remember blacking out on any coaster. Maybe Rock N' Rollercoaster. Yet again, it was dark in there. LOL

And also, why was the Gotham City section closed off (well most of it)? It seemed to be that most of the park, except that area, was opened.

Well when I "blackout" its really called graying out, because you just lose your vision and "see stars" for a few seconds at most because of the excessive positive G's

As for why gotham city is closed, Im not sure exactly why they close it for Holiday in the park, my guess is so they can get a early start on winter rehab? not exactly sure, it was like that last year as well

^Was any other section closed off for HITP?

And with the blackouts/ grey outs- i don't recall ever having one. I'm guessing that's a good thing. Let's hope that doesn't happen (knock on wood)

The boomerang section was closed as well, but ride Titan or Shockwave twice in a row and you will blackout!

I rode Scorpien at BGA two years ago (which is a bit similar to Shockwave) 4 times in a row and i didn't blackout (i think. my memory sucks). So, i think i might be able to survive them two without blacking out. Plus i rode Nitro 3 times, which gets intense, especially at the 540 helix, in a row and i was fine. I guess its just you health or reaction or somethhing. idk LOL

I greyed out in the first helix but returned to normal on the MCBR. On the second helix, I remained concious, but I lost vision until we were almost stopped on the brake run. It was kind of scary that it lasted that long.

I rode Nitro 18 times in a day and didn't grey out though.

I had to limit myself to 4 times in a row on Goliath at SFMM because my head started hurting from that helix, it was the same with me on how i was just regaining sight when we were just about on the break run, Titan this year they weren't letting people re ride because of the excessive G's

Although last year I rode Titan 20 times in a row on New years eve, looking back at that I have no idea how I survived.

One day, i got a concussion from football and i had to limit myself to three straight rides of Nitro (which was the next day) and only two rides of Batman: The Ride. If i had not only more time but no concussion, i easily could have done Batman for at least 12 times without getting up or Nitro so much that i could sleep on it (yet its Nitro, which is always fun to ride constantly. That helix is always intense aand that drop is so great, no matter where you sit. The front has that "Holy crap..i'm falling!" feeling and the back had the "wait, we are going downnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!"' LOL)

I rode El Toro 22 times in a day. My legs were so sore that I could barely walk the next day from the force on your leg from the ejector air. Not reccomended!
