How do you remember the old Kentucky Kingdom or Six Flags first whole year in 1999? Was it better? funner? cleaner!?

I've founded a site showing off the rides in the park from 1999. It seems as if every ride is healthy in good shape. It also seems as if theres a fun vibe throughout the park and more people had visited the park.

Nice find. Miss those days when i was just starting to go to the park.

I like the park as the more recent version though. Just wish i had rode Quake.

Quake wasn't anything too special...it sure looked awesome, but the ride itself was quite tame.

I only got the chance to ride it three times. One of which, we got stuck for a VERY long time in mid air. I saw this happen two other times when I was at the park, and every other time, it was down for the day.

Still, removing Quake, Thriller Bees, Chaos, STOP, and Rainbow...without any (flat ride) replacements is unacceptable.

Agreed...a lot seems to have gone/is going, but nothing is replacing it. It seems like all Six Flags cares about now is the waterpark, as that is most of what they spend on the park.

Six Flags Great Adventure has removed a ton of flats, but it's not like the park isn't getting any attention!

TT sucked 100% CCI is the worst company to ever make roller coasters ever. Every single one besides the ones at Holiday World sucked horrifically.

How did it suck?! in your opinion?!

It was way too rough. I like rough coasters but that was too much. Maybe if it had different trains. I personally dislike having to feel like im going through a heart attack everytime I ride it.

Hey now. I'll stand up for Tigerace81 and say that how does deciding on how large of a metropoliton area have to with the ye ol' memories of Kentucky Kingdom- the Thrill Park.
I know, I started this humbo jumbo, but we need to get back on track.

Sooo...... How good/bad was Chang's first paint job??? I personally liked the Yellow/Blue.

The only memory I have from the the old SFKK was watching their fourth of July fireworks show from a hotel behind Chang, Probably In like 2000 or earlier, I dont know, I was young and Chang was purple and lime.

Are you sure it wasnt the thunder over louisville show? I dont think we have fireworks on the 4th downtown but i dont remember much from 2000 so maybe we used to have one lol.

Ah, who knows. Could have been, I was little and saw Fireworks and Rollercoasters, so you never really know. All I remember from then was looking up and Chang and thinking that looks scary!

When I was little, I used to think that it was called Six Flags because it had 6 main coasters (Road Runner, Chang, TT, T2, Thunder Run, and Roller Skater)

Haha. Ill have to do some research. I think the best show we had was when the blue angels came. I was so excited to see them come in and land lol.
