Who told you MOH was terrible? Its just as good as Black Ops. But Black Ops has the better Multi and longer campaign. MOH has a pretty wicked multiplayer, but since its the first really good one on a MOH game ill cut it some slack on its shortcomings. The Campaign, while short, is pretty beast. Plus the graphics compared to Black Ops are more realistic. One thing it does do better is spawn points. Which is a major issue I have with every COD game it seems. Both are must buys

Well, I gave in and bought Black Ops. Only $45 for used.
My first game I went 19-1. My k/d is currently sitting around 2.3 :)
^ How many people play it online? Is it deserted or are there still a few thousand people playing?
Austin
12-31-2010, 07:58 PM
Black Ops or MOH? Both are pretty populated online, but EA needs to add more servers to handle the amount of players at peak times. They currently have the underhand because this is their first maor FPS online success and dont really have the amount of server space they need like Activision does as they have been building on theirs since they started MW to Black Ops. Overall, lag issue aside its a fun new look at online play

Been looking through over a thousand pictures this weekend and Ive stumbled onto quite a few from parks growing up. Including Disney World (1992) Seaworld (1992) Holiday World (1994) Kings Island (1997) and some other Kings Island pics from different years. I'll post them as they're scanned in. Also I found a few pictures from Kentucky Kingdom from pre-1994.

Talk about pointless. Six Flags actually at one point thought about selling shoes in the park. They would have been specially built or something for walking. I forget what the name was, but they even trademarked the name. Its somewhere on the trademark database.
This was just a random though I had late at night while were getting hit with snow. But really? If haircuts weren't enough, they would have their own shoe.

He started sweeping floors, and worked his tail off to get to where he is today. When people work extremely hard and put their life into something, they tend to get emotional about it.

I wouldn't see this as a party thing. Everyone in a position of power in that room worked hard for their position, and I'm sure all of them get emotional about their work at times. Some are just more discreet than others. There's nothing wrong with showing your emotions.

That's really weird, I've never heard of that before.
You would think they would at least have some way to exempt certain things, like traffic lights, from the blackouts so that they remain working.
* Nope noting was working when they turned off power!!
* They stop the blackouts, but they will continue tomorrow during the day!!
* I got a 2 hour delay tommorrow from school to conserve energy.
* Then snow tomorrow NIGHT!!!!!! So I might not have school friday!

Austin
02-02-2011, 08:16 PM
That really isn't the best way to save energy.
I mean if they want to be serious about it install CFL bulbs where incandescent's were. Or better yet LED's as they last a super longtime and use only 1 watt of power where as an incandescent uses around 60, and a CFL comparison is 13.
Another option harness the "free" energy. yes I know that will be a hard concept since they're pretty heavily reliant on Oil but, Solar Power. This technology constantly gets better and basically will pay you back. Once those arrays get going for like a month or two they should get paid back from the utility company for them producing power from their solar arrays, which once the power cells in the house, building, school etc are fully charged the power generated that cant go to the cells goes straight into the power grid. Sure at night you might use a little of their energy but in general you should be able to supply enough to the grid to not have to owe anything basically.
Thats big projects. More should be done to help get people to use more efficient ways like new AC units, insulation, windows, water heaters, and turning back your thermostat 3 degrees in the winter and up 3 in the summer.
All of that could be a major step forward if states and people would embrace the idea. It's the only way we can really get off foreign oil, something we need to get working on if the mid-east gets any worse.
If we didn't do the rolling-blackouts, then the situation would of been worse and the hole state would all be under a blackout for days. (Thats what they said on the news)
Austin
02-02-2011, 08:43 PM
That's why we should have been working towards using energy more efficiently a while ago.
I understand the need for them in the short term but I hope they also understand to prevent this from happening again they will need to do more to conserve their energy and use the energy they are already using more efficiently
They are going to start doing them again tomorrow :damnit: lol

Mike. He used to go by the name of nitrofan. I don't know if that's still his name.
Wait...What happened to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom?
Austin
05-06-2011, 11:46 PM
Yeah thats still his name haha. It closed in early 2010. Ed Hart, the parks second owner responsible for making it a major park in a short period of time, has come back to take over and he is planning a $50 Million investment over the next 2 years.
Right now he is looking for $17.5M from the city to get the park back open in limited fashion and $20M+ from the state for 2013. He is planning a new B&M, new trains for T2, refurbishment of Twisted Twins, and Mile High, and the other rides getting full refurbishment and painting. Plus a waterpark expansion. Its a great plan if he gets full funding but if he can't I think it would be alright if it was phased in over time.

What do you mean if they ever get it back open? The ride is scheduled to open in a couple weeks.
Austin
05-07-2011, 08:49 AM
Well the park opened just recently and the ride is pretty much complete. Six Flags has had the ride since late 2009 and theyve had plenty of time to open it. I just don't understand why they are taking this long to open, or why they are opening on memorial day. I mean all the other projects they did I believe they all opened on their respective parks opening day so why does GL have to wait until closer to the end of the month?
Jason
05-07-2011, 03:43 PM
^The last ride that opened on Opening Day was Nitro I believe. It's currently testing.
Austin
05-07-2011, 03:51 PM
Texas Giant opened when SFOT opened, Gotham opened at SFNE when they opened. the only other new additions that didnt open when they're park opened was Green Lantern at SFGADV and the one at SFMM. Its obvious why SFMM's didn't but theres almost no reason why they should wait a month almost after opening to open a ride thats clearly ready to go. Its just pointless.
Sfguy
05-07-2011, 04:46 PM
GL's not ready yet. They're still pouring the cement for the walkways, and although the ride is now testing, there's still lots left to be done. Theming needs to be added, wiring needs to be finished, gravel/sod needs to be placed, and it still needs to be inspected.
There was tons of snow this winter which put the construction back. But they really are high tailing it now to get done in time.
Jason
05-07-2011, 05:51 PM

They closed GASM at the end of July. They had to tear GASM down, and they worked non-stop since then. I think the opening rides late thing is stupid too, but I can understand it in this situation.

So far Six Flags has opened 2 renovated rides and a wild mouse early. For about the past 10 years, they have opened new rides around memorial weekend. I don't like that, and I think it's kind of pointless, but it isn't anything new. That's just when they have chosen to open new rides recently.
Where did you hear that they are understaffing the construction?
Austin
05-07-2011, 10:06 PM
It was just an opinion based on how they seem to have to rush to finish things like that. I mean most new construction at other parks there is at least 2 crews. One is on the coaster the other is doing ground work like concrete path pouring.

Construction is always rushing like that, it's not just amusement parks. I've seen tons of new buildings being built where people are still painting on opening day, or landscaping hasn't been completed yet. Unfortunately, that's just how the construction industry works.

Smh. Lol I went to lowes to begin my 2 part home efficiency improvement to help my mom lower her bills a little (I decided to do it as a surprise after finding out how much shes worrying about money lately. Part 1 was to replace all the light bulbs in the house with CFL's. Part 2 is to insulate the hot water pipes and the water heater). Got a 12 pk of CFL's, and 2 flood lights. I replaced all the standard indoor lights. Decided to do my flood's only to find out the new lights had a base that was too wide to screw in.
Fail. Only 4 days of school though :D

Although they say that the flourescent bulbs are supposed to last 10 years, they last less time than incandescent bulbs for us. We went back to incandescent. You may spend more money on replacing light bulbs than you save in electricity.

So far we have had ours that we have had in the past for about 3 years and we have only had one burn out, and I think thats due to the wiring in the fan. No matter what bulb we put in that one socket they all burn out. I've gotten used to having just 3 lights I guess haha.

Austin
05-25-2011, 08:04 PM
Lol sorry. We had to get rid of that old software. It was really holding the site back alot. We had to work within the limitations of what it would let us do but now we are able to do almost anything.
And the news on the page is outdated but I will update the news tomorrow afternoon (assuming I'm alive and that the storm doesnt knock out the power for a lengthy amount of time.) And I think we should be able to possibly get a custom code to show the new posts however... custom works by people that know what theyre doing cost money so thats a negative. But it will be looked into.
Right now I'm just grabbing a backup of the site files so that I have a backup in case the storm does do major damage.

Austin
05-27-2011, 09:41 AM
Yeah. We got 3 days of senior stuff left. May 31 is graduation practice at school then sr picnic (we go late and leave after practice). June 1st is practice at Freedom Hall, then June 2nd is sr awards night which is mandatory but im not getting anything so I dont know why i should go. Lastly, June 4th is graduation at 10AM.
I have to apply by June 22nd for fall classes
Had a food fight yesturday during lunch and 2 more food fights in the main hallways and also a senior prank (threw eggs over the balcony). Last night there was another senior prank that they spraypainted the football field with class of 2011 everywhere. But I still had to practiced around it today... Since then are school has been in lockmode all day. We had security check like an airport, when you walked in the school. The upstairs (balcony) area was blocked off by crimewatch tape and stuff like that. lol There was no lunch they brought lunch to our classrooms. But I don't care this is my last day of school!!

Well I just bought my first Power Tool/Lawn Equipment today. A Ryobi Cordless 18V weed eater from Home Depot! But Ive realized only older people get excited over that kind of stuff... which I take to mean I'm getting old haha. But it works great and I would have loved to have known the battery wasnt fully charged haha. Got all the way through the backyard where no one sees then the battery died midway in the front. Well worth the $119 dollars!
Anyway.. Graduation Practice tomorrow morning. Then Sr Awards night Thursday. Friday no school and then Saturday is graduation! Oh and for those that missed my post, I am getting up extra early and going to Kentucky Kingdom to take pictures AND video of the park. So I'm pretty excited lol. I'll go down Dakota Avenue which is next to Twisted Twins and the dragsters. Then Cheyenne Avenue which is next to TT and Mile High Falls.
And when I'm down on Huron I'll go down E. Adair St., which runs parallel to where Chang was. If I can I will go up to the fenceline and get some closer views.

I finished counting the money I got from my cards: $565 I think I'm going to take about 125 of that and use it to pay for my Midwest Trip which I'm figuring would total around $200 to $250. Then around $100 for new speakers in my truck to go with the new CD player. Setting aside money for Monday to go see Pirates of the Caribbean. Then the rest is for College, used to pay extra costs on the trip and to possibly buy some stock or invest it in something else like an IRA, CD, or money market. Hey its never too young to start investing :p
Pirates of the Carribbean was a great movie, I never seen any of the others but I liked this one.

Its a pretty unimportant fact but its interesting never the less.

Not really other than the Rattler work. Tell us how it was. I'm interested since SOB might get the Topper Track since its cheaper and less invasive. I doubt it will help SOB out though
I rode it in May for Physics day and I loved it. Now the only rough coaster is Boomerang...
Austin
06-16-2011, 02:13 AM
Haha good. All the Boomerang's need are the Vekoma trains. Most run the Arrow's. Most people who rode ones with Vekoma ones say they are barely rough. Look at Carolina Cobra. Everyone just about loves the train.

Thanks haha. I saw it in Walmart's ad. I'm gonna use it at the lake, around the house and more. Its very useful.
Just saw Green Lantern in 3D. Not so much 3D though. More like 2.5D. A great movie don't get me wrong, but the "effects" didnt really get in your face. The 3D was more as a way to make it seems like there is more depth to the film on screen than things flying at your face etc. The only downside I can see is the fight scene. It hypes it up like your going to be watching it like its 1/3 of the movie then the fight starts and it lasts about 3 minutes.
I'm looking forward to Captain America though. It looks really really good.

I haven't seen almost any "Summer" movies this year except for The Hangover Part II and it was pretty good...
Finally back from Colorado and I loved every bit of the trip. I didn't really care for Denver and Elitch Gardens (And yes I went to the theme park there, It was just to small for me, I guess I am used to to bigger parks). But I went to Fort Collins, Frisco, and Breckinridge, and loved them. I hope I can go to college there..
About Elitch Gardens I rode every coaster in the park, and finally rode a SLC coaster in my life, all I can say is that I rather ride Rattler 100x in a row than ride Mind Earser!! Boomerang was the best boomerang I ever rode!! Half Pipe was just alsome!! Twister II was rougher than Rattler!! But my favorite coaster of all time at the park was Sidewinder!! What an amazing coaster!! But I don't know if I should do a trip report since I didnt take pictures since I was rushing thoughout the park to ride every coaster, then to leave around 1pm to go to Frisco, CO!!
But there will be pictures on my Facebook!!

Basically on Mondays/Wednesdays I go to 3 classes starting at 10:35 am and get out at 2:40 pm. Then after the 7th I go for 2 classes from 10:35 until 11:50. Then 1:25 til 2:40.

Austin
08-07-2011, 06:48 PM
I'm back!
Well technically been home 2 hours but yeah. I had a great time even though it was mostly me getting sick or hurt lol.
Lets see.. Day 2: Start of an ear infection. Day 4: Broke a rock and cut open the side of my hand. Day 6: Dropped a 15 pound rock on my left foot trying to break open a piece of a dock that broke away from the marina and floated over to where we swim. Day 7: Ear infection starts back up.
Lol Id say it was a pretty fun time despite that. And about the dock, When we pulled up on the boat we spotted a Water Moccasin sunning on it so we wanted to make sure it was safe to be there (in case there wasn't any more snakes in it) but we finally chased it down the beach and cut its head off with my new Bear Grylls knife I talked about earlier.
Saw about 15 deer one night which was pretty awesome. And I was the only one who caught a fish down there but it was only 2 inches or 3 long. Muskies are killing off the fish down there =/

Nice.. I'm looking forward to it but not ready mentally. I did get to go up and walk around and see my classes. I dont know what I'm going to do with my free time in between classes though lol. Esepcially this fall once I finish that one intro to college course which would leave me like an hour between classes.

I didn't get your text till I got out of work the next day :[
I just went up and got everything paid this morning.
I used to go grab something to eat when I had some free time or study, do homework, etc.
I had a two hour break one semester, the first day I drove back home and by the time I got there I already had to go back so...I ended up just staying from then on..

Lol that sucks. I might just stay there and do homework when that one hour period begins. I just found out one teacher is going to be the death of me..
He has you do notes all class every day, and all tests are essays.. fml.

Did you like it? My day wasn't bad, I got to the classes quickly but the book prices are absolutely killing me. Even WITH aid..

It was alright. I got to all my classes at least 10 minutes early. My intro to college class let out after 30 minutes so i had no idea what to do except sit and try to read chapter 1 of 2 on ancient Indians but I gave up on that after 5 minutes.
I hope my computer literacy class doesn't make us read the text book. if they do I'm going to jump off the Kennedy bridge lol. Thats like a 600 page manual on office 2007 lol.

Ive been to all my classes and overall I like them. Computer Literacy changed the book after I got mine so I had to take back my Office 2007 one and replace it with 2010. Also might have an issue with my us history book but oh well.
