SFNE is the last park to make an announcement... That's weird. Because DC Comics cleared GL, S:EFK at MM recently, so I don't see why this one is taking long...
Anyways, I'd just like to see some concept art.

Everything's good. They wouldn't dare make the announcement the same day or week as SFMM, so they didn't.

Well because the master asked. Here. We. Go. (possible reference on ride ;) )http://sfneonline.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=715#p715. You're welcome bud.

SFNE did it in house using Google Sketchup. Ahaha. I know they look terrible. The theming that they show with it does look decent though. And the stations a little better. I'll upload a small picture of the station, with out its sign, (of course) and then I'll post the link back to here.

I'm sorry, but for a major amusement park chain those are just plain awful attempts at concept art.
SFNE Expert
10-25-2010, 01:34 PM
Like I said, they were made in Google Sketchup. Its a free app haha.
Its not so much concept art, its more to give the town an idea on what it would look like. The covered queue and the coaster in general for example. Thats why I think they were included with the blue prints.

Its been announced... in a way. This document just shows it as Gauntlet Coaster but I'm pretty confident that its Gotham City Gauntlet: (with a suffix)

Go there. Download the supporting materials. Then scroll down to page 38, or you know, you could read everything and look at Riptide Bay concept art (AMAZING BTW.) So its been announced in a way since the investor meeting was today. I'd say they changed they're plans about a million times. Here's all the pictures that were with the plans in the town hall.

I like the new theme but, I wish it was indoors and I very much dislike the new track colors.
I like it, I have been following on SFNEonline!!
The name for the coaster is Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape from Arkham Asylum!!

^Yup! I love the name, even though its a mouthful. I'll probably just call it Gauntlet when I'm at the park.

I just noticed that the coaster was flipped horizontally. When it was here the lift was on the right. At SFNE its on the left. Thats odd.
sccard01
11-05-2010, 10:17 PM
It isn't going to be on the left, Thats just the way everything is noted (maybe because of dark knight). Its going up the same way as it was at the kingdom.

There will be mist in the tunnel. I'm sure they'll light up all the boards and the villains at night, its kinda hard to see flashing lights when you're outdoors haha.
nitrofan-No its not like TDK. TDKs themed to Gotham City Rail and the Joker and Batman. I don't think Batman's even making an appearance in this one. If you'd been to SFNE since Bizarro, which I don't think you have, you'd no the DC Superhero Adventure section doesn't quite have any super heroes haha.
Its more of a spin off. From my understanding, when you enter the queue, its like you're entering Arkham Asylum and you're trapped. You'll be fenced in. it I believe. Then I don't know where it will play out from there though.

SFNE Expert
11-28-2010, 11:54 PM
^what do you mean you wish it was staying yellow? Did you mean all yellow like at when it was at Kentucky? Because now its still yellow, just a more bolder yellow, plus it alternates with a white/grey color.
But I totallyy agree on location, its out in the open and ugly where it is. The queue should help with that. (I hope.)

Glad to see Road Runner still up and running, but I'm still Mr. Gloom and Doom about Six Flags. If they treat it like they did at Kentucky Kingdom half the theming will fall of in 3 years.
SFNE Expert
11-29-2010, 06:35 PM
You do realize Six Flags has gone through two ownership changes since Road Runner was put up, right?
Let the grudge of (mostly) Premier ruining you're park go. It was so far beyond repair when Shapiro came in, remember he added stuff, that attendance was impossible to bring up without hurting the other parks that were making money.
Austin
11-29-2010, 06:48 PM
Added what? An extension of the debt and ruining many parks on his way out of the door?
SFNE Expert
11-29-2010, 06:56 PM
Deluge and the Halfpipe. Like I said, it was mostly older management but he still did hurt it. I do believe Weber would have terminated the lease anyways.
Austin
11-29-2010, 06:59 PM
Thats not a major accomplishment. Considering 1 was free and the other addition, GL, was 30+ years of age and is in terrible shape. Plus factor in rotting wood in most buildings, roof leaks in alot of places, water leaks that shorted electrical wiring for many lighting. One true addition doesnt atone for that much bs conditions we have had to deal with.
Truth Seeker
11-29-2010, 07:54 PM
Wasn't it under Shapiro's leadership that TT and MHF were neglected to a point where they could no longer operate?
Shayne
11-29-2010, 09:20 PM
Just because an attraction was free doesn't negate it as a new attraction. If a park got a brand new hyper for free because they installed 10 others elsewhere would you still say the same? The "free" attraction could have just as easily been free somewhere else. I do agree that "your" park was very neglected, but like acquaz said, we've had 3 different ownerships now....
Austin
11-29-2010, 09:27 PM
But Shapiro's and Premiers was the worst. Too soon to tell with the new one.
SFNE Expert
11-29-2010, 09:39 PM
And you have to understand that there was other, money making, parks in the chain deserving of better attention. I won't deny how bad SFKK was treated, but I think Shapiro felt it was useless to waste money on it while they were in bankruptcy protection.
And hell, at least you were getting a big expansion under Shapiro before he, or maybe it was Synder, decided to pull the plug on the park. If it was Weber's decision, KK would have been left with nothing in 2011. At least under Shapiro each park would get SOMETHING. But thats for another topic I guess.
Austin
11-29-2010, 09:40 PM
What expansion? Shapiros "Banzai Water Park" was a fluke to cover their ass to get Chang out to hand over to other parks that dont really need it.
SFNE Expert
11-29-2010, 09:49 PM
Yeah, I know we talked about that before. This thread's about SFNE... But just want to say, I don't think thats what Shapiro meant to happen. Meaning when Bonzai Beach was announced, they had no plans of axing the lease.
Austin
11-29-2010, 09:54 PM
They made it clear they did. Ive put this together how it happened from the factual stand point and it all adds up to them wanting the coaster out and then covering themselves with this addition and then making the lease void 5 months later out of the blue.
nitrofan
11-29-2010, 10:15 PM

Having a bolder Yellow, like Batman: The Ride at SFGAdv.

Shapiro is no longer in charge of the company, and Chang leaving is all said and done. KK will open soon a better park. Does it really matter what Six Flags was planning? Neither side has any more evidence than the other; it's just a bunch of theories that we put together. I think it's time to stop beating a dead horse, and look bright future that KK has under Ed Hart.
Now let's get back to SFNE.

Six Flags New England [Facebook] - Trivia Tuesday: What sector of earth does the Green Lantern protect?
Huh? Unless SFNE's actually getting a GL themed something in 2011, they can stop using their original 2011 marketing plans on nothing... Its getting confusing. Them creating the Green Lantern fanboy, (oh didn't know about that?) that when I called them out on it, they blocked me from his profile, telling everyone that Green Lantern would be putting the villains at SFNE at bay in 2011, and now this? Whats going on? Haha.
And before someone says Trivia Tuesday is for trivia, lol, its always been for trivia about SFNE. So unless it changed this week...
