Not much of a trip to report, but it was nice to get away for a few hours. Here are the highlights.
-Went with 2 friends, a couple. The female of the couple is always mega excited to go someplace and ride stuff, but inevitably gets sick feeling and usually throws up. This was no exception, she started feeling icky after riding the first 2 rides or so, and sure enough threw up on the way home after pulling off the highway.
-Rode the Raven, decided I still don't like it, but I can't honestly pinpoint a single reason why I feel that way. It's like this pair of sunglasses my wife has, I recognize that they're totally awesome, it's just that I don't like em.
-Rode the Legend a few times, enjoyed it thoroughly.
-Rode the Voyage a few times. The first time, they were running 2 trains and we walked on without waiting. At some point they stopped running 2 trains, so when I went back a few hours later the wait was barely tolerable even though the lines were reasonable. It's because it's such a long ride. None of this was too bad though, but I sat in the back seat the second time. On 2 occasions during the ride, somebody ahead of me spit into the air and it hit me, which really pissed me off and has now become my biggest park pet peeve. What can you do though? I have no idea who did it.
-We rode Pilgrim's Plunge at about 11 am. The sign we passed with the temp. read 49 on the way into the park at 10. So you can imagine it felt like a bad idea once we were all wandering around the park wet before it started to warm up. For anybody thinking Pilgrim's Plunge isn't wet, sit in the back right corner and you will get completely soaked. Great in August, not so much in October is what I learned.
-We rode a few flats, and I scoped out the Wildebeest construction, except you can't see much except for the footers. It's on the far side of the waterpark, which is closed and can't be waked through.
In all, it was for me a pleasant (but short) trip. I was incredibly tired once I rode everything I went there to ride. My normal m.o. is to go to the car and grab my camera bag to snap photos after riding stuff so I don't have to carry the camera with me, but unfortunately I was spent when picture time rolled around. So instead of pictures we split and made it home in time to get dinner in town.
