On google Maps... It appears that a new portion of land from the KFEC is highlighted under Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom name. This has not always been like this, So I'm thinking that this portion of land may now belong to Kentucky Kingdom or possibly Bonzai Beach for 2011? What do you think?

The stuff that looks like new land is the Ashton-Adair parking lot behind Chang (where I've been taking pictures of Chang's removal) and the land that an abandoned looking house sits on that is right next to that parking lot, sorta behind/between T2 and the Gotham City theater thing.
The parking lot used to be parking for Hurricane Bay (Splashwater Kingdom) I believe. I know for a fact that I parked in that lot the first time I went over to the waterpark about 10 years ago, when admission was separate. IAt some point it may have been employee parking too. I'm pretty sure they've had that land for a while.
Yea that land used to be the Hurricane Bay parking lot back in 92-93-94.. It is used as the employee parking lot during the whole month of august when there is a lot of stuff going on at the fairgrounds (state fair, street rod show and a few other events). As far as i know that land is still owned by the KFEC (or at least it was as of a couple months ago....)

I thought it may have been. Thanks for clarifying.
That is probaly why Six flags CEO was there.

Why would Shapiro be there over this? They just confirmed that it is not new land that Six Flags is buying.

When did they confirm that? That land wasnt ever SF property. Now it is for some reason. They would have to meet with him and others to get a deal struck.

It's Google Maps. Do you really think that Six Flags would submit info to hem that they now own new land or would Google really have info to add them to the map if they bought a piece of property that small.
It was mentioned above that it was the parking lot in the past for staff in August and for Hurricane Bay when the water park had a separate gate.

Yes that was with cooperation with the KEC. Back then the park was independently owned and it was new. They were going to do everything to get the park successful, i mean they were leasing most of the park to SF at the time.

the lot behind the picnic area was used for the employees and also the adair lot behind chang.
Parking lot P (the lot outline in green) was not used for the employees and never has.

I just realized that. I never paid attention to it at first so i thought it was that lot but now i can see its not. This is pretty interesting. But its for the waterpark though.
If this is right it might be for a new roller coaster. I mean it could be but so far it probaly for the water park expansion.

It has to be for the waterpark. Its land on that side and i would bet it would be some kind of storage area for the waterpark on that side.

I mean it kinda comes to a point and you cant really fit anything back there so it would make sense to use it as storage, maybe even tube rentals?

That section is most likely not even owned by Six Flags. But yes, I sort agree with Austin looks more for the waterpark...but hey you never know.

Your all wrong, it's for the Safari Tour they are making. LOL. I'm trying to think here, is there any other park besides SFGAdv that has the Wild Safari? It's so fun and very cool. Even though the rhinos and lions are drugged up so they dont kill you and/or destroy your.

The one with animals in CA right? The reason, I'm told, behind the animals is that the park is built on the border of two counties. One only wants animals, and the other only wants rides.

Discovery Kingdom has one, which is the main attraction. But don't even think about it coming to sfkk.

I think Palmer was just joking, but I'll clarify anyway.
Six Flags Great Adventure is a 3 park complex in Jackson, NJ. They have Six Flags Great Adventure (the rides park), Six Flags Hurricane Harbor (the separate gate water park), and Six Flags Wild Safari. Six Flags Wild Safari is included with a Six Flags season pass and is a $10 upgrade from daily admission. It is a drive-thru safari and is said to be a very large one. I have been to the complex, but I have only been to Six Flags Great Adventure, which is one of the nicest Six Flags parks IMO. The safari gets very good reviews and people say it is very nice.
The rides park in the complex also has a dolphin show and a sea lion show. I saw both of them, and while they definately weren't Sea World level, they were funny and they had a few cool tricks. In 2005, they added a new themed section to the rides park called the Golden Kingdom which houses Kingda Ka. All of the stores and resteraunts in this section was closed while I was there due to Kingda Ka being closed, there was nothing saying you couldn't go look around the village area, so I went and it was very well-themed, probably the highest level of theming I have seen at a Six Flags park. The area also houses a tiger exhibit called Temple of the Tiger. They have 2 tiger tanks with several tigers, and they do shows with tricks, but they are mostly educational. They had very friendly tour guides there though who talked about the tigers in the viewing area.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is near San Fransisco, CA. It has a few notable coasters, but it is known for its animal attractions. I don't know much about this park's animal exhibits, but they got a new tiger show this year, and I know that they have a whale and dolphin show, and they have lots of animals there, but I'm not sure what the exhibit programs are.
From my understanding, those are the only Six Flags parks featuring live animals.
Now let's get back on topic. Someone can start a safari speculation thread if they want, but I highly doubt a safari is coming to SFKK and I think Palmer was just kidding about the safari.

^Well sort of. I knew SFGAdv had it, and i just realized that SFDK had one. I meant by Six Flags chained parks, not worldwide parks.
Yes i was kidding with the SFKK Safari Tour thing.
As for the tour, it is HUGE! It is long, and curvy. Lot of animals, and nice decorations. The lion pit has trees and stuff. the tiger area is like the temples inside Golden Kingdom. Plus, i have a season pass, which is free access. :)
Sorry this thread is now closed. Since the recent closure of Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom!!!
