What is going on with Twisted Twins? Is Mile High Falls broken forever? Will this section ever re-open?

It's all discussed here.

I honestly think it won't...I took a walk but Twisted Twins and Mile High falls and the whole are is now a dumping ground and the area around Twisted Twins is just horrid, Theres plenty of room in the northwest territory for a good coaster! *cough*GCI*cough*

Admin Note:Sticked...This is now the official Northwest Territory thread.

Are you the one from Facebook and TPR who posted those pictures?

Austin

yea hes sfkk339

that section will probably be redone and reopen but not as the northwest territory.

Yeah, I can't see it reopening with such an odd theme.

Austin

They didnt even stick to the theme. Well except the buildings and MHF.

they didnt even stick to the theme lol. well except the buildings and MHF.

Very few Six Flags parks actually stick to the theme, but there are a few notable parks with very good theming.

Austin

New orleans was good with their theme. and a few other parks.

Last Off-Topic Post:

I think SFGAm, SFGAdv, SFOG, SFFT, SFOT, and SFA are by far the best themed parks. The best just kind of are there.

*Raises hand*

nitrofan

^I'll second that. Evel Knevel is only 2 feet higher than Twisted Twins, so we could probably get one in Northwest Territory.

Austin

Terminator is better. Only if we get the full package that SFMM got.

We could theme any GCI, then the heigth would definately work.

Austin

Terminator is best though. Didnt you see the extensive themeing they did to it?

nitrofan

Terminator is best tho. Didnt you see the extensive themeing they did to it?

Ya, that thing looks amazing! I couldn't believe it was Six Flags at first. lol

Austin
07-29-2009, 10:14 PM
lol yea. Maybe universal. disney and universal are the only ones who ive seen put 10 million dollars into a ride with theming lol. hell i bet disney spends 3 million on a flat ride with theming like the magic carpets of agrahba.

rcfreak339

Terminator has great effects but the over all theme preety much sucks...Who themes a GCI to a freaking Terminator movie? Ride looks great, Effects look great...but come on a Terminator theme?

A GCI would be excellent in the back section...I don't care if it's a clone (although there are no GCI clones) or a costume built.

Austin
07-29-2009, 10:23 PM
cody ur jealous bc u wont ever get to ride it. The ride is amazing. The theme is amazing. your crazy if u say the theme sucks i dont care what you say the ride is better then Evel keneval.

And who themes a ride to Evel keneval?

Terminator is a thrilling movie, Evel Kenval was thrilling in his day so come back with a valid excuse.

Tigerace, have you ridden Terminator? The layout looks incredibly lame compared to Evel Knievel. I've ridden many of the GCI's in the US, and EK is the only one that has impressed me...Lightning Racer was alright, too.

But overall, I would much rather see a THBS or Eurofighter back there. Both are more thrilling coasters, IMO.

Austin

I like terminators layout. While i wouldnt mind to have either i'd rather have terminator over evel.

No he hasn't.

Evil was pretty much awesome, It was so smooth, the airtime, the surprise drops. Pretty Incredible. It would be awesome to get a GCI.

You're not choosing Terminator over Evel because if the theming, are you? Cause you can add theming to any ride.

Austin

No i really like its layout better

DBru
08-11-2009, 11:56 PM
But you haven't ridden it...lol

Ask anyone who has ridden both---every one of them that I've asked have told me that EK's rules over TS:TR's.

^Termeinator's layout looks so much more boring compared to Evil. So much more.

nitrofan
08-15-2009, 03:24 AM
I just like how the layout looks. lol.

That really has very little to do with how it actually rides though.

It looks almost like Terminator was built around the theming, which is really the opposite of how it should be.

EK was pretty awesome... we got some ERT (exclusive ride time) on it earlier in the year. However, SFKK won't get one, at least not in Northwest Territory, for the same reason they won't take out T2 and put in Batman, even though that ride is about 1000% cooler.

You can't market EK in Louisville. Corporate would pay to tear down Twisted (a wooden coaster) then pay $7-12 million (what EK cost) to build a new EK (a wooden coaster) in its spot, and the general public goes... "Meh."

Sure WE (obsessive coaster people) might notice the difference, but the vast majority of people would think the new EK was just TT, and there'd be such a little boost in attendance as to not make it a worthwhile venture.

Austin

Lol yea. anything new would be nice.

TT and MHF are done and i would see a nice B&M inverted or GCI/CCI coaster in there with a couple flats.

Actually, that is Colossus at SFMM. You can tell because of the teal support in the picture, which is Goliath, and the white wood in the coaster.

Apparently there is a new rumor floating around on Mile Hile re-opening. Heard the same rumor last year though, so don't put too much stock into it for now.

MadCard05

Is not really a rumor so much as people saying they heard it might reopen next year. Not really anything that makes it apparent that it's a possibility.

We have actually already heard a rumor of MHF reopening next year themed to Aquaman Splashdown. You can find that thread in the rumors section of the forums.

Does anybody know whats wrong with twisted twins?

sccard01
11-06-2009, 07:51 PM
I heard that the park isnt going to get rid of anything in the Northwest Terriorty, If they were, they would have confirmed it like Chang. On the other side, I heard for 2011, the park is not just focusing on the water, but they're going to add something in the area (What was ment for 2008). Also some other flats throughout the park.

Austin
11-06-2009, 08:11 PM
Well they better be repairing it all next year because it needs a full-retrack and new trains to go with it. Seems a bit too much to put into a run-down coaster no one liked.

sccard01
11-06-2009, 08:45 PM
Twisted Twins Is fun! It has the most thrill coaster drop in the park! Many people love the ride and still do. Ever since the park blocked off the Top Dragster Ride pathway, making you go all the way around, many people just stop going back towards the back to ride. Also ever since SixFlags took out those flats they had back by twisted twins for Six Flags World Of Adventure or Geauga Lake in 2002/03, many people just stop going over to that area.

I also heard there was suppose to be a Johnny Rockets somewhere around Mile High Falls a while back too for 2008. I guess where employees used to eat.

Austin
11-06-2009, 08:51 PM
Yes but it was a CCI and had probably the worst wooden trains ive ever ridden in. I hate PTC trains like thunder runs but you know id rather have them on the Twins than those gerstlauer. I mean i liked the coaster back in 2005 and 2006 and htne it just got worse from there on. I'm glad they sent out the trains to SFSTL but it does look like the coaster will be torn down if they sent its trains out and by looking at its condition.

Just saying.

Doesnt Cedar Point have a johnny rockets? I think they do but i cant remember the name.

Interesting concept here. Since we sent out the twisted twins trains to SFSTL for use on screamin eagle more then likely we could get it replaced with GCI trains.

Wild Adventures will not be using the GCI trains that were used ont he ozark wildcat at celebration city. These could be sent to the park and then used on TT after a series of fixes. Just putting that out there as a possibility

i know they need to do something. empty out everything in northwestern, or fix them. open the area back up and put a new decent roller coaster back there. they need to do something since its gonna be 2 yrs till bonzi beach opens. i know my family aint getting passes next year.

They aren't affiliated with Six Flags in any way though. I think GCI trains could be put to better use on coasters at some other Six Flags parks. *COUGH* Roar *COUGH*

I think Twisted Twins is just waiting for the budget to be finalized for its demolition. It's been closed for 2 years. If they were going to do something, they would have done it by now. Just my .02

Austin
12-23-2009, 09:05 PM
Who isnt affiliated with six flags? A park doesnt have to be affiliated with six flags to seel them something. Twisted twins wont go anywhere. Theres no money to tear it down and more people want it to stay then they want it gone. They only run one side half the time anyway. With MHF opening with a 95% chance next season they are working to get that section re-opened and ready for business. Chang's gone and they need the extra help to keep guests happy until theres something new coming which wont be after banzai beach.

cory
12-23-2009, 11:06 PM
Hopefully this is true and TT does open back up next year. It would make since if they open it back up because they got to do some for people to have a reason to go to kentucky kingdom next year. With chang gone nobody aint gonna go back. But im sure alot of people will come back if twisted twins open back up. Because they got to have some to make up for chang.

Austin
12-23-2009, 11:39 PM
Most likely with the extensive damage to the track and structure and having to be certified by GCI along with their changes to just run their trains dont exepct it until at least 2011. With the amount of work done on MHF i would say its coming back in 2010 though.

Whenever the section reopens, there is suppose to be a wiggles world or Thomas town in the place of the old Top Eliminator Dragster attraction. That ride or attraction is the only ride that has been confirmed in 2006 to never reopen and something new would be in its place. It was meant to have something in its place in 2008, but the STOP accident happened.

a ride where you pay money and u gt in 3:4 scale drag cars and race down a miniature drag strip.

Wow, they went 2 years then flooded right before they were going to reopen it? That's bad for the park, but it's actually pretty funny.

Everything inside and out has been removed since the end of 2005. The only thing that's remaining from this attraction is the building and lanes. The park closed the attraction before 2006 because it was so unpopular and wasted money.
