Well the have Air (i think SW3) and Oblivion ( i think SW4). I can't quite remember the rest, but most of the SWs have been a dark/black color.

Well, Alton has the famous "secret weapons". You know, Air, Oblivion, etc. Well, the track arrived last month, and the ride is some sort of Intamin. Well, now we have the name:
Surrender
Well, here (http://www.altontowers.com/2010/)you can see the slogan and the name. The supposed opening of it is March 2010.
Also you see this:
World-first attraction opening March 2010
Well, what way this be?

^ No atcually. We have news here.
This is from screamscape:
Alton Towers has confirmed that their new coaster will be named… THIRTEEN. Yes… Thirteen… I’ll pause to let that sink in as perhaps the most uninspired ride name of the year. Wait… it gets better… well, no, not really… so get your wading boots because it’s going to get DEEP before it gets any better.
Opening in March 2010, they’re billing it as the world’s first “Psychoaster”. The story of the ride is based around an ancient burial site that was uncovered in the Dark Forest, where riders will come face to face with the horror that has been unleashed from the ancient crypt. Unfortunately the good details stop there, as they don’t even mention who is making the ride (Intamin) or that the new world’s first technology / surprise will be a section of track that drops to give a freefall sensation, which has all been rumored for some time.
Instead the press release claims (start the over-hype machine!), “The new technology will be the first of its kind in the world and will potentially make the ride so frightening that the Resort is considering introducing a controversial age-rating. Only visitors between the ages of 16-55 will be allowed on the ride due to concerns about emotional maturity and physical health. Visitors may also be limited to one ride per day and be required to sign a waiver which assures the Resort of their physical and mental health to avoid any resulting lawsuits.” Yeah… they went there… sigh…
This is hilarious. You have to be between the age of 16 and 55 to ride. What a joke. Look at El Toro. It is probably one of the greastest coasters ever and you only have to be 48' inches tall. Meanwhile, for a possible over-rated "psychoaster", you have to be 16-55 to ride.
Heres a little quick video.

^I saw those on TPR earlier. It's hard to tell how thrilling this ride will actually be. It does look like a lot of fun though.
I think it is mostly is a family ride. Is the 16 - 56 or whatever age it said true. I just think that is just stupid.

It's a family ride dressed up as a horror coaster. I don't get it.

I wasn't what the hype had to say it was, but it does look fun. Looks very terrian like, and that drop thing is probably why people have the health insurence thingy. Otherwise, family ride. Nuff said.

I'm not sure what to think of this ride. The videos make it look like a family coaster with a 10 foot freefall.
It seems insanely over-hyped.
Unique way of closing the queue due to breakdowns:

Well, that's cool. It shows that they actually want some themeing to rides, unlike some places (not mentioning any companies, Six Flags, Cedar Fair)

Six Flags does want theming. Cedar Fair, well that's a different story...
That looks pretty cool how they close the queue. Is that a real person or a statue?

Cedar Fair does have theming. They just had to buy it from Paramount. But as usual look whats left. Only thing heavily themed is FOF (at least at KI)

Flight of Fear, Volcano, and Backlot Stunt Coaster are the only coasters they have that I would consider "themed". As you said, all were purchased from Paramount. Cedar Fair doesn't do real theming, just facades.

Backlot is slowly leaving the theme dept. Look what they just did for no reason at all. Why would you ruin the look of a train that was very nicely themed to flat red all over the place instead of remolding it a bit and doing a different paint job to make it resemble a car. Whens the last time you saw a car with its lights painted over red?

There was a lawsuit with BMW because they look like Mini Coopers, so they had to change them. I know it looks awful, but they didn't have a choice.

Still they should have taken the time to remold the cars and re paint them. Fun rides get ruined by money hungry companies and companies that have no idea how to make a "in depth" ride. (ie BMW and CF)
