Its more work than it looks. Trust me lol. The whole building would have to be gutted just about, stripped and nearly everything replaced.

It wouldn't take all season trust me. They could easily do it in an off-season. What they do is have the manufacturer come in and install everything and ship all the techs and ride Coordinators working on it to an off-site location where they will learn how to operate a functioning ride and take care of it properly. They will then go back to there park and learn the differences inherit in there design of the product from the manufacturer.

I'm still hearing reports of Mile High Falls opening next year....

I have no doubt it is a possibility. The rehire party for the employees will be on the 22nd, so more might be revealed then. Of course, they also announced Deluge to them before it was built and all the employees were basically told if they talked about it prior to the media announcement 2 weeks later it meant there jobs.

Where does people hear reports about MHF opening back up?

Austin
01-08-2010, 04:44 PM
Mostly from reports from people who heard something, employees, and seeing work being done to the ride in the past year.

Where does people hear reports about MHF opening back up?

The rumors about a boat being on the middle of the lift is also a way.

cory

Well im hearing really good things about MHF and its 95 percent likely its going to open back up. I promise not to not tell what i heard all i cant say it is all good. I dont know about Twisted Twins but i know that if Mile High Falls dont opening up in 2010 it will open up in 2011. But i think its opening up next year.

Interesting screamscape twitter posts:

@cory502 wants to know if I know of any SFKK rumors. hmmm, Intamin Mega-Lite anyone? 45 minutes ago

and

Bwah-ha-ha! Sorry... couldn't resist. No good news for SFKK. no return of Twisted Twins either. 40 minutes ago

cory

Yeah i was the one that put that im sorry i wrote that along time ago. Well that sucks about Twisted Twins but im sure MHF will return. What did it mean by "hmmm, Intamin Mega-Lite anyone?". Just wondering. With twisted twins not coming back i think there going to demolish it in 2011.

Everyone know SFKK is getting a 400 ft tall Kiddie coaster. Gosh, get it right! LOL

Austin
01-17-2010, 02:56 PM
Actually with the height restriction under 100 ft right there a mega-lite would fit perfectly there. Intamin rates theirs as 98.4 ft tall 2.6 ft shorter then the required space. Also, the maverick style coaster which isnt a mega-lite (its an Intamin LSM Launch Coaster: Blitz) might fit but its 104 feet tall. So maybe they could fit it in, possibly where Twisted Twins is. Either one would be even better then Chang ever was.

MadCard05
01-17-2010, 07:16 PM
Twisted Twins is like 10 feet under the height restriction, so however tall it is +10.

Austin
01-17-2010, 08:14 PM
I thought the height limit there was 100 ft?

Although I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen, they probably wouldn't clone Maverick so they could design it with a lower height, and 4 feet is nothing when they do origional grading and ground work for the project.

Austin
01-17-2010, 09:55 PM
Maverick is a different coaster model. The only mega-lites are in asia and europe. this rumor is still in a likely condition due to screamscape and from what ive heard.

Actually having reviewed more of the SEC filing, they project in 2012 to get 188 million dollars, and then in 2013, 315 million. keep in mind this year they only spent near 100 million on improvements and new rides out of the 200 million dollars or less. Six Flags has a very bright future ahead.

palmer
01-19-2010, 08:41 PM
^the big 5-0 should have SFKK getting a coaster. I continue to say this but a B&M Invert would be great. If not, of course, a mega-lite or a Dive machine.

We'll I'm sure we'll know soon enough. Work on the water park should start in a few months, right after summer begins. Keep your fingers crossed. :p

Austin

True, I cant wait to start covering Bonzai Beach construction. Im interested in these new water rides since I heard we will be getting some never before seen/innovative slides and attractions.

I've always thought that a Mega Lite would seem to be a good addition for SFKK, but with how they have been treating this park lately I just don't think its possible.

I would love to see it though!

hardie1010

To be honest, the ways things are going, I wouldn't doubt not seeing another coaster until five or so years unless it's a kiddie or family coaster.

Please keep this thread to 2010 discussion only. I started a Mega-Lite thread in the rumors section, but there is no possibility of a Mega-Lite coming to SFKK in 2010, so let's keep all Mega-Lite discussion there.

Hopefully next year we get a new resturaunt like subway or arbys to replace papa johns. The pizza dont even taste like he real pizza, and papa johns dont even got french fries and the one at SFKK does.

Subway is a possibility but Arbys isn't coming to Six Flags any time soon. I don't see Six Flags getting rid of Papa Johns in the near future because they have put so many of them in the past few years.

I personally really like Papa Johns. The fries are a little strange, but they have great combos that I get frequently.

On Great Adventure's twitter site, they always say stuff about Funnel Cake, which at the park is godly, especially the one in the Boardwalk. Maybe Great Adventure might be a new funnel cake stand, well i hope.

Maybe Six Flags will start putting in Chick-fil-a!:)

I don't think they would of add Chick-fil-A, because they are closed on Sundays. If they did it would be a GREAT hit!!

SFKK had 2 Subway's for a few years.. One of them is now a airbrush shop (by RRx) and the other is now Kingdom Subs (by Fire Chief)...

A Chick-fil-a would be pretty nice :)

We had a KFC back in the early 90's... how bout Popeye's? :)

sccard01
01-24-2010, 07:04 PM
there could be a chick-fil-a one day. You all know kings island has 1, and a subway, and a panda express, and etc

Carowinds has a Chick-fil-A too, so it's probably chainwide with Cedar Fair. A lot of Six Flags parks have Panda Express.

They should get a place like the Outpost Grille at SFGAdv. They have different burgers, fries, chicken, ice cream, snacks, etc.

They should add some Fried Chicken restaruant/stand. I have went to a couple Six Flag parks and all of them had one.

I would take Popeyes over KFC. I really use to like KFC, but since YUM! took over them, and the other chains they've all gone down hill quality wise.

It would be a lot easier to get KFC since YUM!'s HQ is located in Louisville.

I like KFC and I like Popeyes alot. The cool dang about KFC, is that my last name is Sanders and the creater of KFC is Colonel Sanders. Everybody in my grandpa's side of the family lives in Indianna/Kentucky/Ohio Area, and thats were Colonel use to lived around, but I don't know if I am related or not!!!

According to the SFKK Fan Page, the 2009 park map is in progress and to keep an eye on the official website.

Read the comments.

Dont know if they're talking about the map or an announcement.

That's great news for the park, I think if they were to add a ride it would be water ride, I really think it might be some new shows or an event.

I am calling the weeks of Feb. 1 - Feb. 15 the Six Flags Watch!!

For some reason everybody is saying that were getting another drop tower. I dont think we are because what happen in 2007. If MHF dont come in 2010 it will be here in 2011, And i know that for sure. I went to the facebook page and didn't see nothing about the SFKK map.

I hear from people that always goes to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and other stuff i hear is something thats secret which means i am not telling you. ITS JUST RUMORS ANYWAYS.

Austin
01-31-2010, 05:56 PM
What happened in 2007 is mainly Intamin's fault for not providing the latest version of the manual which included steps to take care of the cables better. If we get one it would be a S&S. They are just about 100% safe, there is no cables, just air.

That bit about intamin not providing the latest manuals is somehow forgotten when STOP is brought up for some reason.

Changsucks
01-31-2010, 06:49 PM
While an S&S Tower would be safe, the guests wouldn't know that. They would look at it and think it is unsafe because of the accident. I guarantee you guests don't know the difference between Intamin and S&S Towers.

Even across the country at my home park, Knott's Berry Farm, guests think twice before riding Supreme Scream because "some girl got her feet chopped off".

Austin
01-31-2010, 06:54 PM
Yeah, but it was the park Icon right when you walk in you saw it. A new tower would be nice but I highly doubt it.

cory

it takes prolly 2-4 weeks to build. But it depends on the height of the ride

They're no putting one in this year. Everything at this point is pretty much finalized I would assume. Next year is going to be exciting for new stuff, this year is going to be exciting to watch Bonzai Beach take shape.

palmer
02-02-2010, 09:12 PM
Well, i believe it is 52 days until opening day. Everyone knows, a coaster can't be built within these 52 days. Right now, it is basically all the little things, such as repainted buildings, new stores, etc.

Austin
02-02-2010, 09:15 PM
Palmer lol your wrong :P. Ive seen one built in under 2 weeks in the Expo Center Parking lot for the state fair lol.

With that said Bonzai Beach will be a nice challenge for me to document as the year goes by.

^Well, how big was this coaster? As in a kiddie coaster does not count.

Austin
02-02-2010, 09:40 PM
a mid size spinning mouse coaster. It was fairly new tho, but those carnie coasters are meant to be built quick lol. all you have to do is slide in bolts and pins etc through connectors, tighten them and then get the ride inspected lol.

Changsucks
02-02-2010, 10:33 PM
I certainly wouldn't want SFKK to slide in a coaster like a fair...at least I don't think they would do that...:p

Austin
02-02-2010, 10:34 PM
Lol lets hope not. I'm scared enough just riding the mouse at the fair when it goes sliding into the curves that it might knock the pin out and send me to my death lol.
