He wasn't at the park to play, but instead came with another high ranking Six Flags official. While they were there Shapiro was rumored to have had a meeting with the Kentucky Expo Center people. Question is, what did they meet about? I have a few theories:
1.) Parking for Season Pass ticket holders - SFKK is the only park in the chain that still doesn't have it's own parking that I know of. Sounds like a logical conclusion.
2.) Seeking permission to use land behind Chang during it's removal - It's possible, but I think the park president could have done that.
3.) Bought land - The area behind Chang is owned by the KEC, and the area behind T2 and Blizzard could be. There is public owned houses back there, so it's questionable if the KEC owns any of that land or not. Possibly even attempted to by land for parking, or the parking lot near Gate 2 headed towards Old Cardinal Stadium in attempt for an expansion
4.) Leased land - Don't really see this happening considering the New Orleans deal.
5.) Looking for Rick Pitino - He wants to know what he'll look like at age 60.

If that's true they certainly didn't own it at the beginning of the year. ;)

Shapiro goes and visits different parks in the chain all the time. He has been spotted walking around other parks with park presidents during operating hours just checking things out. It could just be normal and nothing interesting, but most of your theories are possible. Maybe he just wanted a last ride on Chang. ;)
I wouldn't really consider this big news.

^Yeah, he's always walking around the major parks. GADV, MM and GAM. Shaprio is forced to go to SFKK, but he'll go more than once to say "ok, i went more than once to show once that i wasn't forced here"
I wonder if he rides any coasters while at the parks? Funny to see his picture.

He has visited a few times with his family. They really like the park apparently. I do know for a fact that he has rode Greezed Lightenin'. Rumor is that when it was Water Chaser in Chicago 30 years ago he use to ride it as a teenager.

He was a SFGAm Season Pass holder as a kid (I know this for a fact), and Greezed Lightnin' was there at the time, and it was called Tidal Wave.

Someone on GAO saw him at SFGAdv riding Nitro with Mark Kane.

^Did he scream like a little girl? LOL Well, that shows he can do a big, tall, fast coaster, in a suit.

His favorite coasters are the tall fast ones like Goliath or Nitro. He said he hates the multiple loopers.

Yea, Tidal Wave. I keep thinking water chaser. The lights would chase you down the track.

^That's cool. I wish they would still do that.

That is pretty cool.
No, he can't do the loops, but loves heights and fast.
What's his favorite coaster?

I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen with the Greezed Lightenin' theme if it ever gets a pain job.

I've never heard him go right out and say his favorite coaster, but he talks about how much he likes Goliath at SFMM a lot.

It sounds like Mark Shapiro may have been there negotiating lease payments...
