Well most of you probably have heard the rumor that Chang is being removed for water park expansion, or the water park will be expanded into Northwest Territory. Pretend that you own the park, and how would you make your water park expansion?

Please don't make answers like "I would save Chang" , or Dueling Chang. That's not the point of the thread, the point is to share your ideas for a water park expansion and share what types if slides and other water attractions you would like to see.

I would want some towered togethered slides. Like on big 100 ft tower with like 5 slides on it. All are different. One can fit two on a raft, one is a 4 man spinning one, one is a single raft slide, and two are single, no raft slides that are steep and fast.

Dueling Chang, next to dueling Deluges and Dueling T2's is so much better tho :P

I'd like to see the water park moved across the road to the fron of the park, and the rides in front of the park to be moved to where the waterpark is. That way everything can be with what it belongs with.

I'd like to see land expansion, with an aquatrax.

This can't happen. Yes, it would be an excellent move IMO, however, the KEC won't let them dig up the land in order to do that. If I recall correctly the KEC owns the land the front half of the park sits on and SF is contractuly obligated to do something with that land.

Id like to see a napalm bomb strike issued on it.

As much as I'd hate to say this, I'd like for SFKK to stop the identity crisis and just completely focus on the water park. Without the star attraction of the park it just feels odd for them to keep focusing on the amusement park aspect of the place...

Yes, it does suck that we lost Chang ...but something is telling me we're going to see our water park become the premier location for the entire chain. I mean, you remove the biggest draw for the park obviously you have to put in another draw...perhaps this expansion will be even bigger than we're all expecting and they'll pull out something state of the art for this expansion.

it'll obviously be a strange and hard year in between the chang closure and the new expansion and i hope the fruit it bears will be worth it in the end. :)

The original plans for Chang when it was first built was for 3 dueling steel coasters. Which is why the loop on Chang is so big and record breaking.

Yep, but it's true. Chang was supposed to be a triple dueling coaster under the design originally proposed by Ed Harte.

^Yeah Right. Do you know how much I believe that? None. a 3 dueling coaster? Give me a break.

It's true. Chang was Ed Harte's baby. He got it in the park. The original design called for it to be a triple dueling roller coaster. No shit.

They weren't supposed to be "dueling" per se. They were just going to be three B&M coasters looped and intertwined with each other. Picturing it makes me drool.

As for what I would want to see in Bonzai Beach:

1) A new wave pool, making it two total. The new one would have to be smaller than Big Surf due to new laws, so we could run the rad awesome waves in Big Surf and the gentler "family" waves in 'Lil Surf. You could also designate one wave pool as "for tubes" and the other as "tube free."

2) A new, themed lazy river, because you just can't have enough themed lazy rivers.

3) Racer slides. They're a staple of water parks and it's just weird that we don't have them yet.

4) Some new family water area, but one that parents can use as well. Emma is too small to do anything herself, but I'm too tall to go with her at Hook's Lagoon or Buccaneer Beach, so there's not a whole lot for her to do.

5) Something FREAKING SWEET. I mean, I'm thinking a stand up water coaster, with five loops and five inversions, and a first drop of over 150'. Hah, just kidding, but really, something that blows people's socks off.

6) Things to do while not getting wet. A variety of food venues, cool games, some shows, and some shops and an arcade or something. The problem here, of course, is that I don't have pockets on my speedo, so having the spending cash may pose a problem =)

7) The majority of the non-attraction path would be water jets (like you see at public parks) so that kids can run around and get wet without the fear of drowning, etc. Lawn chairs could be located near this so that parents can relax as well.

That seems like it should just about cover it. It'll be hard to wait a year to see what is actually going in though.

I can see Six Flags going to like Walmart or someplace and buying alot of slip n' slides, inflatable pools, spinklers and whatnot and setting them up as the new water park addition. They can even have life guards stand around and spray people with hoses. Talk about coming in under budget lol :P

Well i found this interesting new wave pool design.

http://www.oceaninnovations.com/products_liquid_slide.html

I would definately want that. You can add a fountain and a slide to it without reducing capacity.
