I just posted some pictures of things that caught my eye when I went walking around the back of the park the other day. I was wondering what some of it is, and I was hoping some people with some knowledge of the history of the park could identify these objects. The album is on my profile.

Sorry if I posted this thred in the wrong spot, by the way.

The thread is in the right spot, but where exactly were you when you took those photos? It looks like you took them FROM a restricted area, in which case you probably shouldn't be posting them on the internet.

I was on the road when I took the pictures, on public property. All the stuff behind the fences is very close to the road, and I shot through and over the fences. None of that is illegal. There are non Six Flags related business surrounding these buildings that civilians have to get to, so anyone could have taken these pictures. In that area of the park, They pretty much just built around all the businesses that already existed, and took over the empty buildings.

Of course it's all just junk now, but the ride pieces all have a backstory, which is why I took the pictures. I'm big into theme park history.

In some pictures that I didn't post, you can see the area I was in also. But mostly it looks like blurry pictures of fences, a gas station parking lot, and so on. Not very interesting/intelligible.

^Ok, it just looked like you were walking around the park's restricted areas, but never mind if that's what you did.

I saw the picture of the Batmobile, but I don't think SFKK ever had a Batman themed ride, did they? Maybe it was left over from when they planned on retheming T2 to Batman: The Ride, but it never happened.

There's a stage set up like Gotham city behind T2, I'm thinking the Batmobile was part of that. It's big enough for a person to drive comfortably, but not quite full size. I also was wondering if it was part of the retheming also, but don't know anything for sure.

Didn't SFKK used to have a Batman Stunt Show?

They probably did, and that's probably where the Batmobile came from. What would a Batman stunt show involve?

They did have a batman stunt show. They got people from the audience in it, took them backstage, got them in costume and etc. then as the name implied it was a stunt show. Think of it more like a arena stage, like Dracula. Batman would glide across on a zip line above the people and etc. and then there was a bunch of fire and yea. It was a amazing show i was mad when they ended it.

That sounds fun. It's a shame I never caught that at least once.

Your pictures are of old parts from the old Batman Stunt Show (early 2000's) and the kiddie section that used to be in the Northwest Territory, across the midway from MHF. They were tucked back in the trees, very close to Thunder Run. That space is now occupied by the Woods of the Wicked haunt. Were those first couple photos (of parts in a field) taken on the park property? I can't think of where that would be...

To clarify on Tiger's description, the Batman Stuntshow was located in the arena behind T2, back in the early 2000's, when the whole Gotham City area was in the works. The show was actually very good. At the beginning, they would pick a "member from the audience" (actually a trained actor...not an actually random audience member) who would play the part of Commissioner Gordon. The story followed the Joker as he made his way through Gotham, causing much destruction and mayhem. It ended with a big bang (lots of fire and loud noises) where a building exploded and Gordon fell from a fire-escape to the ground (making it obvious that he wasn't a random guest). Then, of course, Batman zoomed in on his Batmobile and saved the day. It was really fun and entertaining!

On the topic of Batman Show, they have been all over. I heard it was in some western six flags parks, it used to be at Great Adventure. Yet they all USED to be there, where they all probably ended for a reason unknown.

My theory about the Batman show is that the show came to be out of touch with the Batman image once the new movies started which cast Batman in a less family friendly light.

Most kids still look at him as a really cool super-hero. I think the show would be very well-recieved if it was still there.

I think it would too. Tell Six Flags that (as if telling them anything has ever done any good).
