Chang can't hold paint for it's life, I can't wait to see the coaster in a few years, but since B&M were the ones to re-paint it, I'm thinking they did something like removed all the previous paint and did a factory re-paint.

It should stick this time. When we first opened the coaster we painted it onsite, then again and again. Now it was done the right way so it will stay colorful for a while haha

Even Ed Hart justified every single thing I've said. Six Flags couldn't afford to keep the park up-to-date. It just wasn't a good situation, which i why they backed out.

Flying Phil (http://flyinphilsgadvupdates2010-2011.blogspot.com/) went on another one of his flyovers and something strange popped up. There are 4 white pieces of track that are apparently for the corkscrews that will remain that way. Weird? I was told there would be surprises in the ride, but this is just puzzling. What do you guys think?

That is weird, I think it would have been cooler if they inverted the colors having the track black, and the supports green.

Those track pieces are definately painted white. If it was snow, the edges of the track wouldn't look as crisp as they do.

Maybe it's supposed to be some special effect. They wouldn't have gone to the trouble to repaint that section if they weren't going to do something special with it.

Six Flags is investing in a lot of lighting stuff over in Mexico, maybe testing it out for the US parks? Cause we're very judgmental.

Investing in SFM? They moved the laser tag thing to the park from La Ronde but thats basically it and that wasnt a major investment compared to other parks.

An investment doesn't have to be a huge new ride.

Ya, but investing could be anything. They could replace the toilets (and probably no one would care) but they'd still be investing in the park.\

New Jersey schools get out really late, at the end of June, so I can understand it here. (not at many of the other parks). I think they've always closed at 6 arounds those days.

The higher north you go, the later schools get out, and the later they go back in September. 6 isn't bad, the parks will be mostly dead those days with the exception of field trips.

Have you never listened to guests at parks? No one is going to think anything of tha part being different, and as far as most people are concened, Green Lantern is a brand new coaster.

Shouldnt take very long to finish now. Maybe 3 or 4 weeks at the least. But since its the off-season and they usually take a little bit of time building things ill give it a month and a half.

NOTES
Other notes from the tour:
-The renovation of GK to the new safari edition is ummm different. Don't get me wrong, it looks great, but the paths and such are so small and overcrowding will be an issue!
At least they will have different types of animals being rotated through the section during the season.

-John, the new GM seems to be a nice guy. He is a very very quiet person and I could barely hear what he was saying during our Q&A.
He does however seem to be geared towards running things efficiently and told us flat rides will be added next season!

-Green Lanterns trains are downright sexy and the road wheels are friggin huge!

-Skyline cars look "yummy".

-Tornado, aka Fling, just looks out of place to me. The colors are too bright and they left some of that nasty blue on the operators booth.

-Jamaican Bananas and Huge Robots!

-Ka, will in fact only run one side of the station with three trains. They also will only use the front loading section.
Apparently hourly capacity will increase by 10%. Intamin has been there as well to make this transition work...We shall see.

-The rest of the park still looks...okay. I mean, nothing really made me jump up and down.

Nothing is different really. The same trains from KK but re-painted. KK did have the trains worked on sometime around the time it got the Blue and Yellow paint job.

Green Lantern has been painted several different shades of yellow, and has had some "mysterious" gravel laid around it. Opinions?

They're going to have to do something to make the symbolism really clear then. Rides based on movies should make you want to see the movie, not a ride that you won't understand unless you saw the movie.

Green Lantern Opens May 19th-22nd for Season Pass holders and opens May 25th to the general public!

It was taken this weekend the loop shown is the Dive loop (Second loop), the main loop (first) is yellow!!

SFGAdv has some of the best operations in the chain, so if they want this ride to be a people eater (which it sounds like they do), then it will be. SFGAdv is the first park besides Universal, Disney, and SFFT that I have seen a train loaded, checked, and cleared for dispatch before the other train has cleared the first blocks. I'm sure that, at least when the ride first opens, its operations will be amazing.

I haven't seen any videos of it (testing videos are boring when you've already ridden the ride), but there have been reports of the ride testing with 3 trains.

It appears that Green Lantern was having some additional theming installed today! Riders now fly through Parallax right before entering the loop. The color finally makes sense!

I really don't know much about this personally, but appearently Six Flags is using new maintenance policies this season. On rides that are prone to breakdowns, they are doing mid-season rehabs on them as proactive maintenance to hopefully keep them running reliably through the entire season. Appearently the ride is scheduled to be down this week only, and should be open by this saturday.

While it may be frusturating, I think this may be a good policy.

According to Screamscape, SFGAdv's parking rates have been raised to $20! This is getting ridiculous!

Also, single riders are no longer permitted on the Big Wheel in order to prevent suicide attempts. This is sad that this is what the world is coming to...

Wow.. Vekoma better not have made single rider riding illegal -.- I hate riding ferris wheels with people I don't know. It was the stupid kids fault now we have to be restricted from riding a ride by ourself because a kid didnt have the sense to realize that feeling you get when your about to fall to stop leaning out and get back in.

Btw, $20.. they better be valet parking your car or something.

I can understand the rule wanting little kids to be with an adult, but not the no single rider rule. Maybe no single riders under 16, but not single riders all together.
