Welcome to another week of SFKK Online!
Yes I will be trying to post a newsletter each week. The goal of them is to 1. Recap the past week, 2. Announce future features and updates, and 3. Discuss and remind you all of an current contest, or even going on int he site.
With a lot of stuff to cover, lets start off by recapping everything that has happened since the last newsletter.
Past Events:
Founder Award:
Founder award has been given out to all current members that are not registered spammers. Remember we will only be handing this award out to the first 100 members, right now we are at 57 and still going. Once we hit 100 the award will go inactive which means we cant give it to anymore people.
Spammers:
Recently you all have noticed the drastic boom in members which was followed by posts for things such as prescription medicine and links to other sites. After a through investigation of all of these members we noticed that there was 2 similarities between all of their registration information. One, they all registered with the same IP address, and Two, they had a similar email address. So far my "fix" has worked to perfection. I have banned their IP, and email address provider. We do not anticipate another large scale spam bot attack anytime in the near future. If you suspect someone of being a spammer please notify the staff immediately.
Recently Added Features:
In the past week as you all know we closed the site down. We did that so we could work on 3 new features.
Inferno Quiz
Two new administrator options
To do the quizzes, click the Quiz link which is on the red bar under the box that gives you your notifications and your mood. You can create your own quizzes but we will have to approve them which we will try to do every half hour to every hour. They are only accesible on the default skin for now though.
The Two new Admin options are here to help us keep the site safe and protect our members. They allow us to read anyone Private message, but we will only use this if we are forced to or we have a suspicion of rule breaking in a persons PM's.
New Staff Member:
Please welcome Say Hi to our staff team! We are in the process of teaching him the ropes of using the forum software. He is also going to be co-hosting the sites official podcast with me and we will also select a guest to star in the show as well from time to time.
New Homepage Module:
With the creation of the facebook fan page a few weeks ago, i have decided to bring a fan box to the site so that everyone can join it that has a facebook. Our goal with this is that you all will send out a suggestion to all of your facebook friends to become a fan of it. The goal of that is that hopefully they will check the site out and maybe register and become active members.
Current Events:
The Triple Flags Tournament:
Yes tournament. We are going to have a selection of 3 games (hence the word triple). What this is, is a 3 game competition sort of like the triple crown horse races. we will have a field of 4 players. these 4 players must take part in all 3 games or they will be unable to win any award. If anyone wins all 3 mini tournaments they will receive a award, however who ever wins the most out of the 4 people will win an award, and then the 2nd and 3rd place winners get a award as well. If 3 different people win the games however, we will have a tie breaker competition. The set up for it, is that we pick a game at random and the 3 join it, then a staff member joins to balance it to 4, but we automatically advance them to the next round. Whoever gets that free spot will be randomly selected by a spin wheel. We will ask each player to pick a number and then we spin it, and whoever comes closest to that number will get that free spot.
The space invaders game is a warm-up by the way.
Referral contest:
This is still going on. All you need to do, is invite friends and family to join. When they join tell them to put your username down as the person who referred them to the site. When they are done registering, the person they listed will get a refferal point and that will go towards your score. The person who has the most will win a award.
New Skin:
We have finally finished the last skin. While we planned for another one. which would have focused on the kiddie coaster, Roller Skater, we have scrapped that skin as getting pictures for it would be tough as you cant ride it without a kid so we have ended that plan.
To use the new skin, go to the bottom of your page and int he drop down box in the bottom left hand corner select, Road Runner. All thanks goes to Jordan. He has been hard at work on making our skins that we have right now. This is just another masterpiece by him!
Goodbye Lucas:
As many of you all noticed earlier this week, our arcade moderator has stepped down. We would like to wish you the best of luck in whatever your doing. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our arcade. We are hoping to build off your arcade and make it even better. Once again, Congratulations and thank you for all your time getting our arcade up to the size it is now.
Park History:
At the conclusion of this newsletter, I will be updating it so that it is more accurate on the dates of the original parks opening, and the current parks opening. All thanks goes to Vic for getting us this information. Thanks!
Future Updates:
Myspace Group Page:
Yes we are adding a myspace group page for the site. I am currently working on making it. So I will be releasing it publicly soon.
New Graphics:
In the next two weeks we are hoping our other graphics artist can take our graphics to the next level. They will be very innovative and very animated. So thats all im going to say on that right now.
Flashchat:
The future of our chat system Is now ready to begin, once we install it correctly. This new system should be here within the next two weeks as well. We will be able to moderate it easier, and it is a 10x improvement over our last chat.
