According to Screamscape, Canada's Wonderland may get a coaster with 8 inversions in 2012, possibly by Intamin... This could be interesting.
An update....
The 2012 project has a website now... http://www.canadaswonderland2012.com/index.html Were you can see alot of rebar tubes laying around...

That could be good for the park. It Sounds like that Behemoth is the parks only good ride. Canada's Wonderland currrently has 15 inversions (Bat 3 Dragon Fire 4 Flight Deck 5 Time Warp 2 SkyRider 1) 8 more wuld bring it to 22 which would tie it with Thorpe Park in which teh only other park ahead of it would be SFMM which has 35

I think it appears very similar to the initial I305 parts that we saw on site. I guess that could make it just about any type on Intamin (or I guess a B&M is possible too), but maybe it is a Giga!

"X-Works" is B&M's Wing Rider concept. :O With odd looking supports?
Doesn't B&M have do supports for like transfer tracks and the station and stuff like that?

Canada's Wonderland Unleashes Leviathan in 2012
VAUGHAN, ON, Aug. 18, 2011 /CNW/ - In 2012, Canada's Wonderland will unveil one of the biggest and tallest roller coasters in the world: Leviathan. When the Park opens in May 2012, Leviathan will dominate the Park's landscape, taking riders to breathtaking heights and speeds never experienced before at Wonderland.
The excitement begins on Leviathan's first lift hill as riders climb to a record breaking height of 306 feet (93.3M) followed by an exhilarating 80 degree drop. Reaching a top speed of 148 kilometers per hour, riders will experience extreme coaster thrills on 5,486 feet (1,672M) of track that includes a series of giant camelback hills reaching heights up to 180 feet (54.9M), and an astonishing overbanked hammerhead turn at 115 degrees that will cross above the Park's front gate at 147 feet (44.8M) high.
"Leviathan will be our 16th coaster and now positions Canada's Wonderland as one of the top three coaster destinations in the world." said Raffi Kaprelyan, Vice President and General Manager, Canada's Wonderland. "We will go higher, longer, and faster than ever before when we launch Leviathan in 2012. With the addition of this new coaster and our diverse collection of rides, shows and attractions, we continue to show why Canada's Wonderland is the destination of choice for those seeking world class thrills and family entertainment".
Leviathan is designed and manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, of Monthey, Switzerland. The highly recognized industry leader in roller coaster development also constructed Behemoth, which premiered at Canada's Wonderland in May 2008.
Construction is well underway at the park, with a completion date of May 2012. Guests who would like to experience Leviathan before the Park opens next year can visit http://www.leviathan.canadaswonderland.com to view ride renderings, specifications, construction updates, and experience a virtual ride simulation.
Canada's Wonderland is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "FUN." In addition to Canada's Wonderland, Cedar Fair owns and operates ten other amusement parks, six water parks, one indoor water park resort and five hotels. Cedar Fair also operates the Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park in Gilroy, Calif. under a management contract.

B&M is SOOOO innovative... Honestly, I love a good Beemer as much as the next guy, but this cannot be considered innovative. They need to start building 'em like they did in the '90s.

While it may not be innovative as mentioned above, I'm very excited to see this. B&M hasn't shown us anything new for a while and now we get Wing Riders and a Giga Coaster! I'm kind of surprised to see this at Canada's Wonderland as I would have prefered to see this maybe at Knott's (although it has been rumored that they are getting one too) as this is basically a giant Behemoth, but I think it will be an awesome addition! I'm also very happy that they aren't using those V style trains.

"X-Works" is B&M's Wing Rider concept. :O With odd looking supports?
Actually X-Works is a generic name they use on alot of their shipping labels.
But I am excited to see B&M try a giga! It's about time they branched out to this category. Now how long til we see a strata? :p

I'm interested to see how it turns out. Seems like B&M is hitting their stride again lol. within the past 2 years they've launched new types of coasters and they're building or have built 6 of each!
I like how this would just tower over everything!!

Sorry for the size, if you can fix it great!
Fun Fact: There are 456 steps leading up to the top of Leviathan.
Anyways, it looks real nice. Too bad I don't live anywhere near CW, I really want to go on Leviathan when it opens.

Is the lift hill chain or cable?
I would assume chain. I don't think B&M has done a cable lift before, but I guess they could surprise us with this coaster.

I've always wanted to ride in this type of train. Seems way more thrilling than Goliath trains, or trains closed in around you.
The coaster almost done putting up the track!

My initial thought is that the coaster appears to be traveling relatively slow, but I know that was the first test run and the trims will continue to be adjusted. We'll see what happens.
Canada's Wonderland could have built 2 Leviathan's and new Six Flags attractions wouldn't have even been done yet. Shows how fast Cedar Fair goes with new rides.
